@@Slaktrax egr valve is by passed by vacum when you press the gas pedal and need power. It only restricts power when you commuting at city speeds when you dont need the engine working at full power. So when you press the gas pedal it's like egr is not there...there is too much misinformation out there.
Probably not the most efficient way of putting together an engine but the guy's hand checking if the piston rings are in the right orientation. I love bmw
@livey oone m67d44 329 hp in stock, m57 have reached this power only recently. m57 approximate power limit is 400 hp, but on m67 only chiptune. Euro ecology standarts kills this motor, and m/n/b57 is next)
@@Cr0sfad3 M57B30 can easily reach over 500whp and 1300nm. New hybrid turbos, 150% nozzle on modified injectors, ported top and a high flow intake manifold + intake will take you a long way. Add Methanol injection and you can go even further. This will however need an oilpump upgrade as thats where the M57 engine is lacking and bottlenecked. Custom fab a drysump and you can push it even further. Speaking from experience with M57 and as a tuner
My oh my! This diesel and transmission in a 1/2 ton domestic truck of the 4X4 drive would be the hands down winner of ANY U.S. manufactured standard pick up truck for years to come!
Very interesting to see these production shops in Europe where nobody wears safety glasses, some are wearing bracelets and rings, and in some cases, they would install fasteners but not start to thread them before using the torque tool. It was a different time in manufacturing and production I guess.
What a great shame this 3.9 V8 twin turbo diesel from BMW is not available here in UK.... instead we get a 2 litre straight 4 cylinder and a 3 litre straight 6 diesel but no V8 diesel ??
Funny how American engine builder say you have to use assembly lube. I used cheap 20w50 oil and my engine ran fine. This guy is using regular oil too. The people who make assembly lube. Created a problem that did not exist so engine builders would have a reason to use there bs.
This engine should've had OHV instead. Diesels don't rev past 5k rpm, so having DOHC is useless. Corvette had OHV 2-valve per cylinder racing engines revving past 7k rpm and it had no breathing problems at all.
Wish BMW would stop outsourcing there stuff just kills there quality reputation. BMW is the top of engineering. Amazing stuff in house. Damn accountants!!!! How much more money would be made if everyone said cant go wrong with BMW ?? BEST OF THE BEST !
No money would be made because people would not be buying new cars. This is why old cars (the make doesn't matter) are reliable. Because of quality and hiw simple they were.
Can not belive in a BMW plant they work like these.... I have seen mecanic that prohibited me of touching bearings with unprotected hand... The stuf on the hand will damige the composition of steel later in time.
