just had my 435d wrote off by a van driver on an A road in England. I was doing 50mph he was doing over 60mph and obviously thought he was aboard as I collided with him being on the wrong side of the road as I came around a blind bend, as the fire service commented, you have hiw a brick wall at the equilvilant speed of 110mph. Good news is apart from fractured sternum and major back and neck injuries the 435d kept me alive. I have now just put a deposit down on a 2017 335D M sport (in e blue surprise surprise)so thank you for an excellent review , great pace and very informative. All the best Nathan
@@Thuds593 Hi Thuds , I did , not the coupe ,I bought a 2017 335D Touring( as above) , exactly the same engine as the 435d a 3 litre twin turbo, due to how the last one saved my life. Excellent car I have done over 50,000 miles, had it serviced regularly and apart from normal items wearing out its been brilliant. 50 mpg on a run and very quick. Changed the run flats to Pilot Sport 4s OEM, what a difference. Super practical being the estate.
Oh I miss my blue 335d LCI, it drove so well - effortlessly - and as u said it's had the range to match! Looked great too. Had the base suspension and although it rolled a little on highway slip-roads, etc, it was perfect on those bumpy lumpy British B-roads. Overtake King!! Sport+ was fun to kick the rear-end out rwd style. But it did strangely eat front tyres more than the rears, and the seat height adjustment (manual) was rubbish. Rear glass hatch opening so useful & still a fairly small car so easy around town. I wanted to keep it even though they wanted to kill off diesel but really it was a lack funds at the time, still a good experience - the benchmark for my future cars.
I’ve had my mineral grey xdrive msport 2017 GT now for a few weeks and can only say WOW what a car. Leaves other cars as a dot in rear view mirror. I love it, any other car after this would be a come down. It looks like a family saloon but is a MONSTER in disguise 👹
Had my 335d touring for 5 years now.....don't want to change it as does everything I need. ...including minimum 36mpg not matter how much I push it. It really is the car for a petrol (diesel) head who's wife doesn't understand why you wind down your window when driving behind a V8 ......faster 0 to 60 than many 911s and you can put a fridge freezer in the back....I have done. Mine must have emptied the pockets of the first owner as has everything apart from head up display and that camera that sees around corners.....then the next owner bought all the BMW add ons....alcantara steering wheel, side skirts, front and rear spoilers......and best of all it has Tanzenite blue paint.....its like having two cars.....dark blue on a dull day and spectacular sparkling blue on a sunny day. I love the glass roof too but most of all I love powering out of a roundabout exit onto the dual carriage way in the wet....leaving the guy who, had been sitting on my bumper, (not literally....) vanishing into the distance in my rear view mirror, in a wake of spray. I don't think car guys ever grow up.... In summary. It is the best sports car you can buy without your family being aware! My first love was and Audi Quatro turbo avant....but now after two 330d BMW s have reached Nirvana with the 335d....although would have liked a gearstick and maybe slightly stiffer suspension....but then it would not have been an effortless drive to Scotland last summer 1,550 miles of pure enjoyment. This video has made me realise I am not the only one to love this car.....and its the only car I have owned where I have been approached by strangers and asked if I would sell it to them. Now on 109677 miles I think the gearbox needs some new oil as the take up is a little slower than when I first bought it.....all else so far is still good. Really must go and wash it....happy motoring.
I have a 435d its the first diesel I have owned and I previously had a e92 m3, Its not as sharp but Its stil enough for the public roads and Im getting 36mpg with a heavy foot I love it :)
Just ordered 335D Touring msport shadow edition xdrive with full panoramic roof, 19” 403M rims heated seats red/black leather ,pro nav , B&O, adaptive suspension,Alcantara steering wheel, carbon fibre interior parts, Msport blue M calipers , gonna look mega in Melbourne red & ultimately will be a keeper I won’t be changing it anytime soon 💪
I would be thankful if you would mention average fuel economy with 340i and 335d (and all other vehicles) on not congested AUTOBAHN (so 150-200 average I believe).
F31 335d X-Drive Touring is excellent. AutoTopNL is almost entirely responsible for the reason I own one :) But after several months of ownership I can categorically say this car needs AC Schnitzer Springs. The standard SE suspension is shocking. Nose diving on braking and too much body roll on bends. Feels like a boat even on the adaptive suspension. Once you've got the springs it is utterly brilliant and your BMW warranty is NOT affected
@@tjcarruthers9820 there’s quite a difference between comfort and sport. Comfort takes the bumps really well and the car becomes an excellent cruiser. Sport mode the suspension tightens up a touch and inspires more confidence when pushing on
@@light459 cheers for reply, I also meant is there much difference in comfort when you put the ac schnitzer springs on as toting with ditching the run flats and adding the springs
You made me buy this car..... I fucking love this car, I watched this video then bought this car, if anyone is thinking of buying this car then fucking buy it, I fucking love it.... I used to drive a vw touran , it served me well and then I bought this and I fucking love it.......... thanks to you sir for making me buy this, did I mention I fucking love it xx
Ha haa ha!... Almost 4 years ago I bought my 335d touring based on this excellent review also and bleepin love mine too!....It's now coming to the end of it's PCP finance agreement and there's absolutely no way I'm trading in for a new car ( eg M340d/340i ) ......My BMW dealer is already phoning me almost every week asking for it and giving extra equity deal on a new purchase.... but I'm going to pay the final balloon payment and keep it. I'll have no monthly payments but still own and drive everyday what is still one the best cars on the road today. bleepin love it!! Thank you AutoTopNL for making me a very happy driver :-)
Just be happily aware @scoss that if you step from an A3 TDI to a 335d you will simply NOT believe the difference in terms of performance and refinement. You will quite possibly need a clean change of underwear every time you floor the thing!..🤣🤣🤣👍
De 335d f30 is echt een sleeper, vooral nu die de uitlaatpijpjes enkel links heeft. Ik zou graag een tesla vs 335d willen zien. :) Ik denk dat de 335d het wint vanaf 150 naar de 250 toe.
Nice car i have the 330D XDRIVE Msport good review but i wouldn't feel comfortable on the autobahn at 180kph with your no hands on the steering wheel driving!
Amazing car ! A question though: will you go for adaptive suspension (SelectDrive) with 19 inch wheels or standard MSport (DirectDrive) is already comfortable enough? How was your test car configured? Thank you
they will have a M340d. In the next summer it will be available on g20 and g21. It will also be stiffer and lighter ( clar platform like 5 and 7 series ).
