Welcome back to the channel everyone! Thank you for joining me. Today I had one of the most impactful mods done to my car as far as smiles per gallon is concerned. I got a dual resonator delete for my 2017 BMW 440i with the B58 motor and paired with a catted high flow downpipe.. OH MY GOD it sounds amazing. I'm dumbfounded by how well it turned out.
Today I show you all what exactly is removed from your car if you decide to get this done, and how it will sound after the mod. Assuming you have a downpipe of course. Stock exhausts should still benefit greatly from this mod however.

Just a little piece of info. The exhaust isn't aluminum; it's steel. You can't weld aluminum to steel because of the metal's different melting temps, thermal conductivity, and intermetalic compounds. Otherwise, like the car, sounds good.

Thanks for the tip, genuinely thought it was a type of aluminum and was taking care not to mix metals lol. The mechanic did weld the two together no problem although It’s probably best to switch it out sooner rather than later. So far so good though!

Car sounds amazing! Also I wanted to mention, MAN do those smoked gts tail lights look good. I have always been a fan of the 4 series tail lights but the gts ones make it so much better imo. Beautiful car.

Hey thanks for commenting! I’m sorry to say my bumper is just the standard M sport front bumper as far as I know. If it’s the M sport bumper you’re looking for I’d try Kies Motorsports first then maybe ECStuning. They have good inventory and customer service. Good luck! 👍🏻

Have just the sunroof tilted open with the rest of the windows closed, you’ll get little wind noise when recording and still hear the engine

Do you hear your waste gate at low rpms when accelerating? Kinda like a rasp/hiss? Also please make a reliability video on your car/tune. Love the vids!

Yes I do and if it’s what I think you’re talking about you can really hear the turbo spool through the exhaust. But also sometimes when in higher gear, lower rpm and I get on it I hear a rasp that I don’t really care for. Maybe that’s what you mean haha. And I will absolutely make a reliability video for you. I think you should! No regrets so far for me. I don’t think I did anything special to get the clock? I let Apple car play sit on the main menu and after 30 seconds it’s enters screen saver mode 🤷🏻‍♂️ maybe you need to enable your screen saver

Hey thanks! so I actually have no burble settings. You can’t adjust burbles with JB4 without the MHD backend flash. So what you hear is all natural from the downpipe and dual res delete 💪🏻

Awesome vid brother! I just got a 2015 BMW 420D 2.0 Diesel with a M power kit (roughly 195ish bhp). Is there any way to make it sound a bit beefier when pressing down the pedal, but without constantly being loud? In my old days, in an old audi a4, I could merely switch the airfilter to a K&N and it would do the trick - silent when cruising, but made a good sound while pushing it .. Also awesome if it wouldn't be a billionair-remake-kinda-thing :D

Hello! Thanks for commenting. Let me start by saying I know little to nothing about the 420D. So I really couldn’t tell ya. Does your car have an exhaust valve built in? You could disable the valve to make your car louder. Maybe do some research and see if a resonator delete (like in this video) would benefit your car in a good way? Is the 420d turbocharged? Because you’re right, a filter would help. Especially a cold air intake. Hope this helps! Whatever you do don’t get a muffler delete 😂

It’s a 2017 mate, but I’m not sure what you mean? Have you ever heard of the engine failing when deleting the mid pipe? Curious. Mine most certainly did not. It ran just as it ever did

I went to Bippers Automotive in Fallston. I liked them because they didn’t give me any trouble about the oval shape the new pipe has to be welded to (he was skilled enough to handle it without a fuss) and they had it done in under an hour

Mine are actually just “carbon fiber” vinyl decal stickers. I bought a pack off Etsy that came with every size for every emblem on the car for like $10. Hood, trunk, wheels, steering wheel. The seller isn’t around anymore so you’ll have to find a different one. Good luck!

Do you feel by doing a dual res, delete your car is faster ? I would think the exhuast flow should increase straight piped.

Good question, it’s hard to tell. At first I didn’t think so but then I took my friend for a drive and he was like yoooo this is faster. Idk man haha if it is it’s 5-10hp not really that much but def feels healthier

Nah man in no way shape or form is this a hybrid. It’s a straight up turbocharged in-line 6 cylinder. But has a bunch of nice features to get good fuel economy if you put it in eco pro. But I’m always in sport or sport +

Good question. I don’t know unfortunately because I already had cel and couldn’t pass emissions due to my downpipe. I never had just the resonator delete to tell

If you’re trying to be low key it’s still perfect for that! No drone. And still burbles but sounds more stock and won’t get you pulled over if you’re next to a cop. Sometimes I actually prefer valves closed because at low rpm the turbo sounds insane

@@SpYFoXZeRo I like to keep my cars relatively conservative so honest opinion, cold starts are a little much for me with this mod. And it’s a rare condition but if you hit the throttle just right (about 3k rpm in high gears like 4th-5th) going kinda slow like 35mph the rasp sounds kind of shitty ngl. But I don’t regret my decision at all. The pros greatly outweigh the cons.

That’s insane! Maybe they’re quoting you for stainless steel which is 3x more than the stock aluminum. That would make sense. I had them use the same metal the exhaust is already made with
