This video describes how to change the hydraulic fluid used for power steering and the BMW Dynamic Drive system with active swaybar.
What's Required:
Gloves
Rag
Catch pan
Screwdrivers
Lift or ramps
2L of CHF11S, LiquiMoly 20038, or equivalent fluid

You would need to bleed the hydraulic system. Fill up the reservoir, start the engine, turn the steering wheel left and right twice up to full lock, check the reservoir, top up if needed, stop engine, top up again, if needed. The level should be at max when the fluid is at room temperature (20C). If it is at operational temperature (50-60C) it can be higher with apprx. 15mm. In this case do not remove the fluid.

Thank you very much for your video. I have an F11 LCI with dynamic drive and I just want to do some preventive maintenance on it. I wanted to ask you several questions as you have struggled quite a bit with this system 🥲. - How do you drain absolutely all the oil from the circuit? From the valve box or the hose in your video, do you think it drains everything (if it's at a level with the ground so low in F11...) Is it possible to loosen the anti-roll bars tubes? Is it possible to break something 🤣? - How do you bleed or refill the circuit afterwards, so that the pumps or Dynamic Drive motors don't run without fluid, do you have to do some test/dance to make it do all the movements and refill the circuit?

love the video bro, but just a quick question, would it also be good if you turn your steering from lock to lock (left to right) when draining the rest of the fluids out?

Thank you! So my take on it is you are correct - that is a good method. With these cars, the PS fluid and dynamic drive swaybar fluid is shared. There is a pump mounted on the sway bar and if the car is running its not a good idea to let this pump run dry. I also noticed that since this lower hose is at the bottom of the system, most of the fluid comes out since it does fully drain the reservoir. The best method is probably to do this a few times so the old stuff is eventually pushed out of the rack and drained. Not all BMW E60's have the dynamic drive too.

@@DeColaBros oh I guess it all depends on what model you have but yeah you right! btw do you notice any improvements using the liqui moly compared to do the chf11s Pentosin?

Love the video bro.but you got a Put the original green bottle -pentosin - Just don't trust any other brands even if it's the same spec this is how problems become an issue later but definitely love the video keep up the good work just Wanted to share my advice with you I know it's cheaper but sometimes it pays to just put the The original fluids in Take care.

You can get compatible fluids much cheaper.

I use what is compatible and review datasheets for the fluid which are found on brand websites. As long as the manufacturer specification is met, you should be good.
