Is it possible to change a crankshaft seal without pulling this big bolt out?

Hi, it is not possible I am afraid. You need to remove the pulley and the big bolt

Very good tool to have. It is very useful for removing pulleys, crankshaft seals/gaskets, some bearings as well. Comes in handy in most difficult situations as it is supplied with a lot of different attachments

I've seen a few with a piece broken off the thin part of the ring before, which obviously can't be used anymore.. Nifty tool you've got there, but nothing beats experience here when prying around an aluminum engine.

Yes, many people are too rough and beat it with the hammer, then they probably don't bother replacing it which is very bad as it is not balanced anymore, not sure if you noticed on mine but it has a few shallow drill holes from the factory when it was balanced. I agree with you 100% that experience is hard to beat. You have plenty of it after 35 years in the trade buddy. Great work on your car, I am very impressed. Some day it will be like showroom condition again :)
