so i drove the 2022 and traded in on it. it is lacking the storage space but for every other category it wins. the ride is smoother, more balanced and the engine has less vibration. the headlights are fantastic on this bike and surpass many cars in visibility. the heated seat/grips are excellent
BMW C400 line is manufactured for BMW by Kymco of Taiwan which is a very experienced Scooter company. The Kymco "version" of this is an Xciting S 400i, so far as I can determine. And way less expensive than the Beemer.
nice video buddy I like this :) from the uk it was just the music no describing how the bike preforms , or I could not understand the language, this is what I was looking for thanks !!!
The 2024 XMax 300 is now $10k the Burgman is not available here Honda also don’t bring any big scooters here. The BMW is a 350 with 27 hp better lights and better package at the moment $13K complete
I'd likely never consider a scooter but I did learn things about this model that I did Not know and might suggest this model to my more scooter oriented clientele. As always, much thanks for all you do!

At least here in the USA, BMW has already put a recall stop sell on them so none of the dealers can sell their inventory of them until the recall is lifted. I’m not sure of the details for the recall. Wish you had talked about the leg protection, albeit self explanatory I’m sure; I’ve never seen that. I wonder if there’s one for my ‘18 K1600 B-GA
As far as I know, the C400GT has not been announced for the US market yet (and I am eagerly awaiting it), so I assume the recall you refer to is only for the C400X model. That may explain why the dealers inventory is so scarce when you check them online (at least in the DC metro area).
I am looking at the 400cc class scooter to replace my larger American touring motorcycle or getting a scooter for around town usage. Thank you for your input.
Don't know why thy usually say these scooters are better for short trips, think they are better then motorcycles ect for any length of trip, more then fast enough ,more comfort and weather protection, more economical ,and(mostly )more underseat space.
Power wise I believe. It produces "only" 34 horses with 35 torque. That will definitely be tedious on a journey of 400-500kms especially if you're riding double.
FYI I bought mine new FULL (heating, alarm, led, connectivity, 5y warranty)for 8800 euro which was only 700 euros more than the xmax 400. That's exactly the price of the connectivity option which the xmax doesn't have. A separate mount plus GPS would be the same price. I test drove both and the BMW drives more relaxed and certainly better protected on the highway. My top speed is 156 km/u btw and I'm over 100kg. Everybody his own taste but it looks damn sexy and as explained it's not more expensive. A sym 300 was 5900 euro with actually NO options so I don't get the hate about the pricing.
@stulys. Did you already go for the 20000km maintenance? I did ...... i paid 1100€ at the official bmw dealer. They replace a rediculous amount of parts when you reach 20000km. In you are interested I can show you the invoice. I spend 1600€ in maintenance during 20000km. So yes it is overpriced, and by the way mine has all the same features as yours. This was my first bmw scooter and it will be my last. Non standard parts that were replaced under warranty: seat, 12v battery, keyless ride key, rear wheel bearing so I am waiting for the next thing to fail.....😞
Which is an huge limitation if you want to bring a second helmet, not to mention that it reveals to potential burglers that there is something Inside the storage space...
Burgman en X Max better value for money at the same if not better quality. Also the new Honda Forza 350. Then for even less money both the Sym and Kymco models in that range are good alternatives
You would like the 2023 Yamaha Xmax 300 ...I paid 6299 out the door in Nov 23 ......it's a better bike and is more comfortable and agile and goes 87 GPSd all day ....under seat is TWICE AS BIG AS Beemer....go see yourself
always always remember running costs on these things. every 20000K be prepared to spend 2000USD. And if you don't, prepare for major REPAIR and not maintenance bills, and a much lower resale when potential buyers want to be sure this overengineered piece of machinery hasnt been given less than perfect care.
Philip Iau totally true. I reached 20000 km. I paid 1100€. total cost of ownership is very high. After this mileage it is worth half the price of a new one. And the quality is very poor😞

The flex case system was used also on the small top cases Honda developed 10 years ago. There's nothing new about it, other than the fact that it's placed on an overpriced scooter...
4,4 L / 100 Km. You must drive Edward full problem I’m only in the city to make it that bad 👀 i have one. And 5.200 Km. Driven I use only 3,1 L / 100 Km.
Design, except front fork is great. But thats all, when comparing to forza 300. Consumption 4,4l/100km vs 3,2l/100km, price 8300€ vs 5900€. Forza also have electric windshield and keyless top case, but on the other hand it lacks heated grips and heated seat...
Thailand 399,000 and insurance per year is 31,000 baht. Nearly 10% of the bike cost. Yamaha Xmax 300 is better. 180,000 baht with insurance, more storage and have many dealers for service.
they are nothing special compared to the others, you pay more for the name which is what bmw counts on, there are more after market items for the other brands, it is a cool scooter! 🤠
I looked a number of owner reviews and the worst thing they could say about this is lack of underseat storage. Maybe just needs the top box and it's a done deal for touring.
I got the 2023 Xmax 300 and for $6299 USA out the door it is far superior 75mpg going 70mph....twice the storage. 87mph gpsd all day. Comfortable made with quality in Indonesia Sorry Beemer you outpriced your small storage bike !!!!
Xmax 300 weighs only 397 lbs. Way better low center of gravity ride ....twice the storage 75mpg. Going 70 mph ....6299 out the door in USA what more can I say ????? Are you kidding me
For the money I paid out the door for ONLY $6299 this 2023 Yamaha Xmax 300 is a much better buy !!!! Look at storage 2 full size helmets plus more. 75 mpg going 70 mph ,plenty of room and the most comfortable seat, more nimble than BMW weighs only 397 lb. Made in Indonesia NOT CHINA ....made with more quality parts and thicker .....just look for yourself....I did. Traction control and BOTH front and back ABS ....
"you can use your telephone which is cool and usefull in the traffic" REALLY ? music ok ... calling BIG NO as a YT channel you should raise awareness NOT to use a phone in traffic be it on a bike or in a car
I have a helmet headset and receive abs make calls without problem - and that's on a manual bike. On an automatic scooter it would be even less if a distraction. I do get your point though, riders need to make these decisions depending on their level of ability and the road and traffic conditions.
@@Certago i totally agree, but you should rephrase then or take more care about what you say, i understand english is not your first langauge (nor it is mine), but as you're having more folllowers, responsability follows ... keep doing good reviews as you do ... make a transcript before you do it ... ;)
