Amongst others (mostly Laverdas) I used to have a Moto Guzzi Le Mans II. At 6'2" tall, it was always a bit small for me. Wind the clock forward 45+ years, and I, too, now have low mileage, second-hand CE-04. No problems on the CE-04 with my long legs and somewhat bulkier frame now. I agree with you that it's possibly much closer to a motorcycle than a scooter, and the handling is excellent. For my use case (local errands and a bit of two-wheeled fun in the countryside) it's superb, and every ride so far has put a smile on my face. Charging and top-ups when out and about have been easy - and even a short top-up adds 20 miles. We, too, have solar PV and run two BMW i3s (as well as a Ford Maverick pickup). I think the CE-04 is a very complete and well-executed two-wheeler that's just different. It'll never replace the thrill of a decent motorcycle ridden well, but it is close. Much closer than many will admit! I really enjoyed your video. It had lovely, clear, high-resolution footage and sensible commentary with a good sense of what it's actually like to ride the bike. Who thought that 31kW could be so much fun? 😀
Glad you enjoyed it and validating my points. I have been using it just as much as my gas bikes and like you said it’s just different but sill a ton of fun. Cheers from Texas
I appreciated your reviews; I decided to buy the Mandelo v100S, getting it in 3 weeks. Will use the V100 for weekend rides and the BMW in the city to go to work. I currently have the bmw c650gt. Have it since 2017 and love it. Im thinking of selling it for the ce04. Since I will use the v100 for longer rides.
Because it was last years model and here in the USA, these kind of bikes are very slow sellers. From what I understand the CE-04 sells much better in Europe.
@@user-oe4gl6xq2d That is basically what I did, I waited out the dealer until they were really motivated to sell ... =). They sell well in Europe but not in the US or Canada from what i heard.
I have an electric car and part of the appreciation is the absolute silence. I simply cannot hear the electric motors. But in an exposed 2 wheeled electric scooter/motorcycle the electric motor sound is just too annoying. Range, charging are of course known shortcomings. Technology needs to dramatically improve before electric motorcycles become mainstream. Having said that I do have a SurRon electric bike but thats just for running around my farm.
@@ThatGermanFella I don't think my SurRon has regen. Maybe it's too old and the newer generations have that. My Tesla dual motor Model 3 is great with one pedal driving. Maybe motorcycles will soon get there. 🤞
