So you're running 17x8.5? How did you do it? I'm running 17x8.5 (215/40/17) with 1" wheel spacers on BC Racing Coilovers. Did you have your fenders rolled? Mines are rubbing and it's just terrible.

That is too short of a tire, the speedo is going to be off.

kris washburn has a point. What you are not taking into account is that, for eg. the brilliantrot 318is that runs 17” is converted to 5 lug. It depends what parts are used for the conversion, but in general the hubs for 5 lugs will go even more outward, so 15” 7j ET 20 wheel will not fit the same way if it is 4x100 or 5x120.

This doesn’t even begin to touch fitment for e30. All correct comments made here. I have had to convert bbs rc090 (8x17) from et20 to et41 (spacers required to clear the callipers added to my problems) and the front still needs fettling to fit because I can’t increase the offset anymore to avoid rubbing on the arch lip, also front and rear require different offsets (or simply spacers) if you have a square set up and want them to match. If you want poke its not so much of an issue. 17’s easier to fit due to the front strut being inclined if you want tuck (rear has more clearance). Take internet advice with a pinch of salt and try and look at real cars

I was under the impression 17x8 et 20 would fit front and rear with no modification.

@@gjergjo they fit but I run 235 45 17 and want them to tuck a little. Everyone seems to run a narrower tyre and I also had to fit 15mm spacers/adapters. Lock limiters also required. The video doesn’t go into mods required and it depends what you mean by fit. They fit but there are many factors to take into account. They are not a “universal direct fit” or a “Direct replacement”

@@dickjohnsonsixtynine thanks for the info. I have a shock/spring (current H&R oesprings) setup and wanted to run 17x8 et 20 and was under the impression this fit without spacers or mods. I haven't purchased tires yet so I'm still open there. I was guessing I'd have to drop to H&R sports due to the wheel being 17 and looking wack at that height.

I would way rather run 16s on mine but m3 brakes think otherwise.

You can put 18's only if your car has wide arches. But i never saw a 4 lugs 18"wheel

@@EliasRizk53 The rims probably came off an older model 5 series because I was also surprised to see a set of 4 lug 18 inch wheel. He currently has them on an E30 coupe. It looks like almost new to me.

@@EliasRizk53 No. I would never lower it. Those rims will fit but I won't even think of fitting it on. It just destroys the suspension. I've seen other E30's with irreparable suspensions due to gross tyre size.

RIght? I thought they were going to tell normal cats how to get a good aftermarket look. I imagine that gear heads are enthusiastic about all of this, I just want a slight cosmetic improvement... Funnily enough though, I was actually shopping on their site prior to looking for a video like this on RU-vid. Haha
