Introducing my BMW E31 840Ci Sport to the RU-vid channel - a car that I've owned for a couple of years and have already modified. In this episode I go through some of the features of this 90's BMW Cruiser, talk about the modifications already done and future plans. I also take the E31 to my friend Kos over at Birds BMW for a service and a health check.
Next up I'll be reviewing my 80's BMW Cruiser, the E24 635CSi aka "sharknose".

Raj, you're a man with great taste. The e24 and e31 are my favourite of the classics, and yours are stunning. I have an e39 540i m-tech and love the feel of older BMWs as well. Subscribed!

This bimmer has aged well design wise (slick) unlike the Merc (barge imo). I can't decide which is better looking, this 8 series or the 6 series. Either way they are both gorgeous especially with your tasteful mods.

I am driving a 1990 850i from the first month of production. The car is all original, almost. I changed the Bavaria Business to a Blaupunkt Frankfurt RCM, which looks absolutely awsome in the car. May it's worth a try for you, as well. Car came with the original speakers. I intend to upgrade it to Hifonics speakers using the housings of the original E31 Hifi system of the later years. I am eager to see what you are going to do with your 840. Greetings from Germany.

I get that you were talking about the 840👍🏽 I always wanted an 850csi with the V12, But the prices for them have skyrocketed, I missed my opportunity.

What were the competitors of this car? Mercedes SL R129, Porsche 928 S4/GT and GTS more of a 850 CSI competitor... and then we had Jaguar XJS. They have all aged so well. Well maybe not XJS though... it was always in the shadow of the E-Type. But they made some brilliant cars in the 90's. And they all looked different unlike today's cars which are pretty much sterile and from the same mold.

Excellent video. Minor correction on the price when new in UK. The 840Ci Sport was £54k. For comparison the other models in the E31 range were- -850i/Ci £63k -Alpina B12 5.0 £80k -850CSi £83k -Alpina B12 5.7 £110k Also your E31 is an 840Ci Sport Individual & not a standard 840Ci. This may not be relevant for suspension setup as you now have air-ride installed. But the interior & M-tech exterior kit was installed on the 840Ci Sport only.

I can confirm that is the stock colour interior as i have the exact same one, the piping should be the same colour as the car

His bmw isn’t a m model but yes I agree the e39 is an insane Motor car I drive a e39 330d m sport with 185.000 miles on the clock and it drives and performs handles like dream , I can’t even imagine how amazing the m5 version is of the e39
