I had the same thing happen in the front seats of my e36 m3, for reconditioning the seats on amazon they sell the original bmw cans much cheaper than the dealer. I would recommend getting the “bmw foam leather cleaner” and it comes in the Original BMW Care Products can, it repairs the dried out leather but it makes the leather feel and smell like it’s brand new from the dealer. “BMW PureCare leather care” will also repair and the make leather feel brand new, but also adds a layer of protection. Then if you’re looking for a UV Sealer to protect against the sun the “BMW Leather Care set with uv protection” comes with the leather lotion with UV protection. If you’re looking for a patch for the backseats, if you search “leather repair tape” and find the right color &size leather tape. If you wanted it perfect, Lseat.com sells the exact seat leather replacements for fronts and rears for all BMWs from 1960-2008, including different variations that would have been available at the dealer, however, I recommend the genuine leather, Not the faux leather. Big difference. When i bought my 7 series i bought those cans and used them in the m3 and they were able to repair the small hairline cracks in the leather on the rear-seats and the backs of the front seats but not the cushions so i used the leather tape patch and to protect the foam.
