Welcome to another BMW E39 M5 DIY how-to guide.
Today we will be looking at installing direct cooling to the front discs via a dedicated ducting hose from the front bumper to the rear of the front brake disc shield.
This shouldn't take you more than a couple of hours to do yourself and costs less than £35.
Why do we do it? The E39 M5 doesn't have front brake disc direct cooling as standard and therefore when used hard on track, the discs are prone to overheating and warping. This little modification will help keep the friction surface temperature cooler and therefore prolong the life of the discs.

Nice video and your car looks very clean. I think I will do the same on my M5 but delete the fogs. Thanks

Nicely done, I still have the stock breaks with stoptech rotors and pads with upgraded ecs steel lines. If you don't mind me asking where did you get your calibers for your bbk?

What if you made a Y connection and had two ducts going right to the intakes as a ram setup?

I have air feeds direct to the CAI filters already using 3.5" bass ports in the lower grille and convoluted plastic ducting to direct the air flow.

How do you like the Dunlop Sport Maxx tires? Do you use these tires at track events?

Paul, I'm a big fan of your videos. I've already performed the CAI build, the fogging washer nozzles build. next will be the ABS heat shield and then most likely this build after that. I've added these URLs for Parts. I assume these are what you used. => RevoTec 51mm Air Outlet Ducts (www.revotec.com/acatalog/Air-Outlets1.html) => RevoTec 51mm Red Silicone Ducting (www.revotec.com/acatalog/Red-Silicone-Ducting.html) for high heat => Revotec 51mm Black Neoprene Ducting (www.revotec.com/acatalog/Black-Neoprene-Ducting.html) you use black. maybe another supplier? => 51mm Speaker Ports are available on eBay but links die so here is what they look like on Amazon ( a.co/1vxrFVc)
