I have a 2001 325i with manual transmission. New coolant hoses, thermostat, expansion tank, water pump, battery, vacuum lines, spark plugs, MAF sensor, k&n air filter, LED tail lights, LED back-up lights, LED glow kit, 32" LED light bar and it sits on 18" wheels. The body is in great condition with no rust or cracks in the rear sub-frame. $2,500 but I live in central Kentucky, USA

DO NOT disassemble the struts without a spring compressor. There is so much pressure with those that it can seriously injure you. They call it a “live hand grenade” sometimes because of how much pressure there is.
Man, I did the same thing as you - I installed the rear shocks without the shim and washer under the rear shock mount. Been driving around for 2 weeks with rattles from the rear. So annoyed now that I have to take it apart to fix it up.

Well, I did the job last week and it's just like this with only minor differences. There's no sound deadening in the back of the M3 to be torn out. You need a shop to swap the tops for you on the fronts, unless you have a spring compressor. We took mine off, went to the shop and had them swapped in an hour. Lastly, have someone help you, it's infinitely easier with two people.
@shoplifetv can you explain why there's no need for shorter links in the back when the car is lowered but a must when lowering the car in the front? Thanks.
In your opinion what is the ideal brand and model for the most quality in the construction, build, performance and ride quality for the cost. This is an area where you don't want to be tight as you get what you pay for, and spending as much as you can is better than the usual spend as little as possible. So apart from the ST shown in the video, what do you like that ticks all the boxes
What's torque spec for the 4 bolts you need to remove top hat bolts, bottom strut to lower a arm and spring bolt. Lmk currently have all installed in the rear just not torqued

great video! do the ST xts Assemblies allow you to preload the spring Independently of setting the right height, so that spring does not have too much pre-load on it or bounce around depending on the height setting?🙏🏽
There's a set of adjustable coilovers here at my local junkard on an 05 e46 330i rwd sedan that look great & am considering going and taking them off. However i own the same 05 e46 330 sedan but mine is an 330Xi (AWD) model, they look like they'd fit/work. Should i not attempt the replacement or what Should i do?

The only thing I can see wrong with the way you do this is the spring will change the high but the spring all so controls preload so if you ajust both the same then shortly the driver whight will through out the ride hight and weighing the car to set them up would be better
First, I want to say great video. I wish I had this when I did my ST install. Also had a question, do you remember where you ended up at after all the height adjustments? How many turns in the rear and how many turns in the front? Im running a staggered set-up: 18x8.5 Front et38 on 235/40/18 18x9.5 Rear et35 on 255/35/18 04 E46 Coupe I have the rear fenders shaved, but still get some rub in the rear when hitting bumps. Been lazy, but definitely need to get under there and raise it up which is why I am curious to what where you had things set. Thanks
QUESTION! Does anyone know if the reinforcement plates for the front struts causes a rattle sound? everything is tightened and I cant figure out where the little rattle is coming from. I appreciate the help in advance :]
Hey mate I need some help with my 330ci when I start the engine and drive it, it feels groggy and sounds like something is lagging in the engine doesn't drive properly but eventually the traction light comes on and abs light comes and makes a bleep noise then drive perfect no problem at all but this happens every time I drive, do you know what could be causing this? awesome channel btw
Im just about to buy these ST coils, but i dont know if i should go with the ones with camber/caster plate or the ones without that. I dont want insane camber or change the caster. XA or XTA? Best Regards
how much do the front reinforcement plates cost? cause i did the rear cause its very common but the front is normally never cracking right only by m3? further have you got solution for the squecking trunklid?
Are e46 I,ci and xi coilovers interchangeable ? Or will the xi kits be different since they are awd? I’m looking for adjustable kits but everywhere I look it says the e46 that are rwd will not fit awd, I don’t see why not. I have 04 330xi will a kit for 04 330i not fit because mines not rwd?

Hmmm, @ShopLifeTV I am about to stick some Eibach ProKit springs on my saloon. I got some Meyle HD front droplinks to replace the old ones. Am I going to have issues with the new front droplinks as the car will sit a little bit lower on the Eibach springs?

Drop a Cummins in it. Not really. For the most part, going from a 5 speed to 6 speed isn't much more than just swapping the transmissions out. It might be a little different due to wiring and whatnot, but it shouldn't be difficult.
usually you have to put the top ring all the way to the top where it meats the spring, you twist it left to lower it. you'll see the whole spring twist
Can you please tell me if you pit 2 rubber pads for the rear springs ? (One on top and one on the bottom) I have some weird noise in the back... I put the adjusters on the bottom metal on metal with no rubber

Last I recall st does not give you an option for differnt spring rates for an off the shelf kit unless otherwise requested you should recieved 400lbs/inch front and 479lb/in rears which in kg is like 7kg front and 9kg rear. Please correct me if I’m wrong and don’t follow this video tutorial as a good guide since this install had way too many mistakes lol
And LOL misinformation at its finest bro. Do you know what you didn’t then now ? You installed camber/caster plates actually but you must informed viewers to either mount the front strut with the slide adjustment front to back if caster adjustment is desired or side to side if camber is desired ? Lol You never stopped to ask yourself, “ hey why does this camber plate have some many offset holes going around this entire camber plate” 🤔🤭 on the kw/st bmw gamer/caster plates the come included in this kit and other kits just like them with the similar design plate only mounts in one direction where your camber is adjust with the slide in the left to right side to side position and caster is changed by removing the mounting studs and shifting them to the other holes already available to you on the plates LMAOOO !!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
