BMW e46 convertible roof latch repair, access convertible latch motor, M3, 330ci, 325ci Just remember, if I can do it you can do it! Why not do it yourself!
OMG...Thank you, I've trying to troubleshoot this for 9 months. Great job! Would you be so kind as to share the device and software that you are using? Perhaps you know of a cost effective alternate? So far I have replaced the broken gears in windshield cowl motor a the l shaped screw arms. They seam to work fine now. Mine were cracked as well and since I already had it apart why not replace them. I really need get your diagnostic tool. Again thank you.
Great job. So what I’d the solution to fix those parts. Does the magnet need to go from one fix place and then it moves to the second space. Where should that magnet be placed in order to move to open and close. Was there a broken bracket that the magnet needs to be?
No, the magnet on each sensor one is opened sensor, another one is closed sensor the 1cm square metal pice as you can see in video i manually moved it from closed sensor to opened sensor let sensor get the signal send to ecm then pcm will know the roof at opened or closed position then ecm will does the next funtion That metal pice came off from roof latch Finaly in this video the roof latches need replaced fixed problem
Diagnostics the most important If you sure components are bad just replace them Before you replace them should know what cause they broken or by time the material quality changed Just research on google he will bring you some websites sold the parts, eBay has everything
My left side latch is locked shut.. I tried removing the side and useing a 5mm hex but there is no bolt inside the hole for the 5mm hex! I guess my top is locked for LIFE now.. hahaha
@@AutomotiveServiceExcellence ok. Thanks. I might just end up selling the car. This top has me so frustrated. I would be so much happier to get a non convertible. " Dealing with the top leaking and the locking top issues I really don't recommend a convertible bmw. They have a very bad fail rate.
@@AutomotiveServiceExcellence link? I saw one but it said the magnet wasn’t included that i had to remove it from mine and transfer it and i don’t have the magnet
@@AutomotiveServiceExcellence Nope I am referring to the convertible seal (the one that presses up against the windshield cowl seal) did it just slide off once you unbolted the two T bolts on each side?
