BMW E60 M5 Oil Change
How do I change the oil in my BMW E60 M5? This tutorial video shows you the full oil change process, with everything from how much oil goes into the e60 M5 (oil capacity), how to change the oil filter, how I jack up my car, how to drain the old oil, open up all the compartments you need, how to clean the components you need to clean up, how to reset the oil level, and basically everything that goes into changing the oil in your BMW E60 M5.

ExoticCar PlayPlace just bought an e46 should I change oil myself with Castrol European blend, it would cost me like $60 to get all the oil I would need and a filter, or should I just take it to the dealership where they said it would be $85, basically $25 more but saves me time.

ExoticCar PlayPlace Is that really 18 lb/ft torque for the plug? I haven’t been able to find the specs for it online yet. Can you confirm? Main reason is because I already slipped threats on an Cadillac CTS before, and replacement of oil pan is not fun or cheap neither once that happens. That’s for this videos.

I would definitely recommend getting some drive up ramps, I made my own out of hardwood and the time it saves against using trolley jacks/axle stands is well worth it.

I change my drain plug every two oil changes minimum. That hex head strips pretty easily.

2 crush washers means 2 drain bolts. You need to remove the plastic cover just behind the front spoiler. The drain bolt is just back of the AC lines.

Yes there are two. Year 2007 and on, I have to drill a hole 2" to drain my oil so I do'nt have to remove front cover to change oil. Hope this help.

In the future It’s just easier and quicker to put a 2 x 4 or anything and ride over with your wheels it will raise the car enough so you roll the jack in the centerpoint

Dear Mark, I have heard 10w60 for E60 M5 was not a good choice in first place ,due to right tolerances, so pls confirm is 0w40 good enough for E60 M5 in normal climate like 30C

The only recommended viscosity is 10W60. It Will burn oil every 2 to 4.000 km.

Didn't you say in one of your videos that the spacings in this car's big end are so small that high viscosity oil (10W60) is too thick to get into the small crevices which can cause harm to the engine? If I remember correctly you recommended 10W40 after doing some research. Could you clarify please?

Im still dont understand where that two "arrows" of oil measurement needs to be, my car is showing full stripe between arrows, and 1.2 L..... Is it OK?

Sounds a bit high because ideally it should read around 0.8 - 1.0

IIRC the M5 consumes about 1 liter per 1000 KM? So if you change the oil after 10,000 KM you are effectively changing new oil? :D

Id jack the car up by its center jack point and lower it on floor jacks on the left and right side, shouldn't be supporting a car by an hydraulic jack, not designed for that

I need to know if anyone ever experienced limp in low revs for example if i drive on the open road it is all good and as soon as i reduce speed,i think when under 2500revs she limps.Restart then good.Also on idle she limps.Have anyone had this issue before and what was the problem?I replaced throttle body actuator,new plugs,had all injectors removed and pressure cleaned but still the same.The diagnostic remains lean bank 2 and it always appear that 3 injectors on that bank has issues.
