Brilliant video - did it all from the top - engine cover off (don't drop back right bold down the back!!) - slam panel off, fan cover off fan out (remove plug and watch the water pipe that's clipped into the bottom). Remove belt (tensioner 24mm), drain/suck out PSF reservoir (cover alternator and have a paper cup wedged under to catch excess), remove pipes 1x clip, 1 x 17mm open spanner (watch out for the o-ring on high pressure pipe) then bung pipes. Remove three bolts from front of pump about 11 o'clock, 8 o'clock, 7 o'clock (13mm, 13,mm 10mm respectively) in relation to the pump pulley. Note pump runs freely unless spun quickly - I span mine on the drive and when you go fast it spits fluid all over the floor hahahaha! Wouldn't have attempted it with out this video thanks again!!
very good video! I learned a lot, thanks. I have exchanged a pump now. my car is E60, 535D from 2009. May I give a hint to remove the (servo) pump faster...there is no need to demount the wheel of the pump...just the 3 screws to be opened and it comes out very easy. An important thing once you take out the fan: Remove the radiator hose at the bottom of the fan from the two brackets first. You have to do it from below. If you simply pull the fan upwards, they break off. Then the radiator hose can no longer be attached to the fan.
