Incredibly informative and well produced, thank you! I had fuse 61 blow for an unknown reason and my CA start/drivers handle no longer worked. Replaced the fuse and CA start works again, but none of the handles work anymore (the passenger side was already not functioning). Going to try and find some handles on eBay. Also I really appreciated how you cleaned everything as you had it apart. I'd like to have a mechanic like you close by!
Exactly! This is the problem I have with my E84 X1. The battery was draining because of the handles. Both are faulty and not working. This is a perfect video as shows all the problems and the explanation. Now I am waiting for two second-hand handles this week to change and trying to solve the CA issue. If not at least I will disconnect CA from the handles to stop draining the battery (Now I left the car open at home all the night long)
Wow I love your video and how you go through BMW ISTA. I have the software but not a professional mechanic and while it has been very useful, I'm not sure what I do to find my info you know. But I understand now the basis of it, when you have a code you calculate a test plan and it tells you how to diagnose. Cool
Comfort access is a very nice feature to have, if it works correctly of course. I also noticed not to buy cheap batteries for the keyfob, better use well known brand that lasts for a year, AND if it goes bad the car will tell you to replace it. Very nice and informative video, as always 😉

Hello, one question, if I disconnect that plug the handle light goes off. So when I seal it with tape I will loose the light for good correct? I have F30 but the handle is all the same. thank you!
Hi. I just see your video. I'm sorry if my English is to bad :)) if my confort access module is pluged in , the door handels is caceled and my fuse is ok.. why the start/stop not working without insert the key in the switch ?
I had the problem with the drawning Battery. But even my keyless go dont work. After disconnecting door handles my battery is okay but I can start without key. Maybe the antenna in the rear bumper is defect
Its strange to say but my e60 520d that i had a couple years ago did not have that door handles but still had the comfort acces feature😅 the e90 330D had it also but whith the door handles.. its realy strange.. i was really thinking that you can code it in..?
Great video!! One question: do you know how complicated a retrofit of CA is? Is the wiring of the door handles already installed, even if you don't have CA?
Hello, it's quite complicated in the way that you need to wire the entire car, add antennas and rhe most important thing you need new keys with CA , everything is double, now depending on your knowledge/ tools and parts .
Nice job. A related question, what could be the cause of "Remote not detected" messages showing up every time any door is opened then closed while the engine is running? It's a F10 with comfort access. I have tried replacing remote battery, no luck. Thanks!
I have a 09 x5 4.8 with confort access. From time to time it wont read the key that i have in my pocket and i have to stick it in the slot to be able to start the car and i get the message that key not found. What is the thing that i can check to see what’s going on. I replace the battery on the fob and also the main battery on the car and i dont have any codes. Any help will be nice Thanks in advance. my Car show Engine start fault! Please open and close the drivers door. Remove and insert the remote control into the ignition lock. In case of repeat occurrence, have the system checked by your BMW service. // this problem with Comfort Access ? Kub
Hello! Great video!!!! My e91 have comfort access but has not worked since i got it and after watching your video I was motivated to start search for the problem. Turns out someone has unplugged my comfort access module and scrapted it because i cant find it anywere.. Is it possible to buy a used one with same partnumber without having to code it? I understand that it probably is something else wrong aswell but i have to start somewhere. Thanks in advance / Anton
Salut , am întâmpinat problema asta si cautand o rezolvare am dat de clipul tau masina in cauza un bmw e90 lci din 2011 masina imi da eroare ca nu gaseste cheia sau ca aceasta ar fi defecta , am cautat siguranța 61 care era arsa dar nu stiu din ce motiv . Am schimbat o sperand ca o sa rezolve problema dar nimic , tot nu imi detecteaza cheia . O sugestie daca se poate , sa merg cu masina la un tester simplu sa vad daca e ceva eroare pe undeva sau sa incerc sa gasesc pe cineva care se ocupa strict cu diagnoza pe Bmw. Mulțumesc anticipat!
Salut ovidiuu. Am un e90 facelift 2011 cred ca la fel ca al tau chiar si aceeasi culoare foarte asemanator si nu imi functioneaza amprenta. Nu ma pricep deloc la ce faci tu... as vrea sa merg la un mecanic ceva voiam sa te intreb daca merge cum ai facut tu sau trebuie schimbat manerul neaparat. Sunt cam nestiutor in masini scz daca nu intelegi prea bine😂 Mersi!
Salut! in primul rand va trebui diagnosticat sistemul respectiv si in functie de rezultat vei stii ce ai de facut faprul ca masina ta face lafel ca alta sau cea din videoclip, aia nu inseamna neaparat ca are acelasi defect . pentru acest lucru va trebui sa apelezi la un service specializat BMW din zona ta !
Salut! Am un E60 cu confort access care nu da nicio eroare pe tester dar totuși nu funcționează. Am incercat și mânerele și să o pornesc fara cheie, nimic. Îmi apare semnul de cheie deși eu o am in mână.
Salut! sa stii ca nu poate nimeni sa iti diagnosticheze masina fara sa o vada fizic, faptul ca nu apare nici o eroare pe '' tester'' aia nu inseamna mare lucru , acolo trebuie facuta o diagnosticare completa nu doar citire de erori , problema poate fi din cheie din CA din CAS , antene etc...nu trebuie tu personal sa te pricepi la asa ceva , dar va trebui sa apelezi la un specialist din zona ta si sunt sigur ca iti va gasi si chiar rezolva problema.
@@MOvidiu Știu ce zici însă mă pasionează sa lucrez la mașinile mele, am și ista. Voiam o idee de plecare întrucât n-am mai avut până acum confort access așa că deocamdată nu prea cunosc așa multe despre el.
Salut, am un e90 2008 cu keyless , pe partea dreapta am incercat 7 manere diferite e70 sau x1 si nici unul nu functiona pe masina mea, am dat jos cel de la sofer si lam montat pe partea dreapta si a mers keylessul. Ai idee ce ar putea fi ?
Salut! pai hai sa recapitulam : deci pe masina ai pus mai multe manere de diferite modele care nu au functionat si la urma! ai mutat manerul de pe partea stanga pe partea dreapta si a functionat! deci care e concluzia?.... concluzia e ca masina din punct de vedere technic e perfect functionala si manerele care le-ai incercat nu sunt bune sau nu sunt compatibile.... are logica?
Salut, revin. Pana la urma am cumparat un maner de dreapta care initial nu functiona (deschidea masina incontinuu) . Am montat manerul am pus contactul am pornit masina si mi-am vazut de treaba, la prima oprire am incercat manerul si a functionat. Concluzia e ca se adapteaza sau se invata manerul cu masina (ori prin punerea contactului de mai multe ori sau prin inchiderea deschiderea centralului din interior. Cert e ca functioneaza perfect acum
Thank you for your video....very informative and straight to the point. Now,,... my problem. I have BMW E92 335 2012 Msport with comfort access. I have the ORIGINAL 2 FOBs that came with the csr. 1st FOB works everything the way it should that is good. To me it means that the FOB, Door handles, module, fuse etc...is all good and functioning. The 2nd FOB, DOES NOT let me open the door by touching it, does not allow me to srart the car withoit inserting the FOB in the slot. The button on the FOB to lock/unlock button works as does the open boot button on the FOB.... and car only starts when i insert the FOB in the dash. All memories of presets, seat position etc....works The error on the dash board shows no key....and on the head unit shows no key detected,/failty key/FOB. I have replaced the battery in the FOB twice...no change. As I said before....one FOB works perfectly well...the second FOB doesn't. I have tried resetting the FOB by inserting/removing and holding the lock button while pressing the unlock etc....but no luck. Any ideas???
