BMW F30 - How to Change Rear Tail Light Bulbs

Just an FYI. If your have the factory "tool" kit (under the felt, right side, battery cover) you should have a reversible screw driver. The handle has a 10mm opening to remove those nuts.

Nice tutorial, I had a similar problem, but instead of the bulbs, it was the pins at the bulb connector that was faulty. According the the Mechanic, the pins were fried, if only there was easy access to purchase the BMW parts...

When replacing incandescent bulbs make sure not to try getting the oils from your skin to avoid premature burnout!

I'm getting the right brake light malfunction intermittently. It comes and goes randomly. Dealer said there was no issue (of course). I replaced mine with a Sylvania 7506 12V 21W. Car didn't like it at all. I put the old P21W bulb back in and it was happy again, for now. What did you use?

Great video! Always a need for something like this especially with myself not quite being a hands on type of guy just because it doesn't interest me or I do not know enough about something or just flat out don't want to make things worse. Seen your video first and went with it today as I was at Auto Zone getting this changed out by a lady associate. She had known everything about what you explained in the video and was just stuck on how to remove the bulbs as she was just twisting the bulbs and not pushing then twisting. Anyways after seeing your video everything came out great, but I thought you had to wear gloves when touching/changing out bulbs? Thanks a bunch:)

I was told to never touch the outside clear glass with bare fingers due to greasy fingers will cause bulb to over heat

The 328s have wiring issues so don’t beat your head against the wall. Sometimes the bulbs won’t do the trick my first and last BMW

That's a newer model BMW how come it does not have led tail lights? I have a 08 E92 335xi OEM tail lights but am wondering if there are any plug and play l LED light bulbs into my existing OEM Tail lights

That "thing right there" is a guide pin, or locator pin. Also, the wrench you're using is actually called a crescent wrench.

I’m about to light my car on fire. Stupid rear assembly won’t budge and I’m feeling like it’s about to break.

HA ........ I can't believe you don't even know about the screw driver that every F30 has in a trunk that is designed to unscre those tail lights bolts. The screw diver has a socket in the back of it that fits. You don't need the 10mm or wrench. I just did it my self. You should definitely mention it here. Thanks

My break light just went out last night but im confused as to why the daytime running lights weren't dead either are they not the same bulb? You can see the daytime lights running but once i hit the breaks the one break bulb is out.

All new bmw bulbs are fixed bulbs bulbs cannot be changed the whole fixture is needed not just a buld 200 quid per buld this must be a very old car even e93 bulbs are fixed units cannot be removed

If you’re left break light isn’t working anymore and you put a new bulb but still doesn’t work. Then you most likely burnt the fuse. This is very common on f30 bmw’s just a heads up! (-: cost about 160-200 to fix and repair from a shop.
