Dont tell me that ! ;) I just got the hard oil line trashed ! And went to high pressure/rubber hose all the way from Oil tank to the banjo end of the old line ..... Im also concern about the engine temp. and exhaust temp. on the new soft line. Will see. I coudnt take any more the fight to remove and insert the rigid line anymore ...... Hi :) Wow, just checked out some of your videos. It must be so much fun to have all the sand on your doorstep. One big playground. You seem very competent in the sand. How long have you owned your bike and how many miles does it have on the clock now? Hopefully your oil flexible hose was installed better than what I did. Once I’d noticed a small burn mark in it I was constantly checking it and worrying in case the engine casing burnt through it. Fingers crossed yours will be ok :)
Thanks for the tour! Great spot to hang out and wrench on bikes with Kirk and Nutmeg - Reminded me I want to watch On Any Sunday again. If you ever need a new gear lever rubber, Motor Works has them pretty cheap...but yours is probably shaped perfectly for your boot!
@@HaynesGarage I forget, have you ever done a compression test on her? I'm curious how that Rotax is doing after all those miles! I guess if the power feels fine to you, the thumper is probably doing great. ⚡
It may have looked better but not long after installing it I noticed it had been in contact with the engine casing and part of it had been damaged. After that I was constantly worrying about catching it, or it burning from the heat whilst riding. I’m sure if I’d done a better job to start of with I may not have faced much issues but I feel much better now the rubber hose isn’t wrapped around that part of the engine :)
@@HaynesGarage Wise compromise, Katy. High temp lube hose can endure max.135C and Max oil Temp I've ever measured in 650GS was 125C at oil tank with deep stick Thermometer. Case surface temp may be quite lower than it. If the hose attached was just general oil resistant hose, it's durable max Temp would be 100C. It could be loosened during summer time peak day. I would benchmark your optimization when I do waterpump job, 3rd time 's change....soon. Thank you!
