Scratching the lower crash bar is inevitable based on the design. The real problem is the upper bar pushes against the noise of the bike transferring vibration to the headlights and the electronic instrument panel. Touratech is there something I can so to lower the upper bar off the noise of the bike????

Good eye. These bars were actually updated years after this video to use two clamp pieces per side and we never shot a new one. This video shows the original design that proved to not be sturdy enough at the lower mounting point.

how much clearance is there between the bar and the underside of the front beak? your video looks like it's actually touching. Just fitted this to my 2017 GS Adventure and there's only a few mm clearance. Is this correct?

Nice instructional video! Does that whole crash bar setup have to come off for oil changes? I know on my F650 the engine cage goes around the sump guard and the sump guard needs to come off.

On the F800 Adventure the crash bars do not need to be removed.

Hello. My BMW 800 Adv fell and this high bumper was framed in black. Please help me recover the original silver color? How could I do it? If it is painting the small area, could you give me the code for the original silver color? thank you so much

It sounds like you have the black bars on your bike and you want to remove all the black coating to have them silver now? The silver bars are bare media blasted stainless steel so if you have your black bars sand blasted they will look just like the silver bars. All of our black bars start as the silver stainless bars.

@@TouratechUSA No, I have the same silver bars as the ones installed in the video. What happened is that the motorcycle fell and the silver bar was marked black where it was hit. What I need is to repaint or recover the silver color in a part of the bar

The protection bar was not scratched or dented, it was just marked black from the impact. I need to know how to recover the silver color in a 6 cm piece. If you could help me with the silver color code or some technique to make it original without painting the entire protection bar. thank you so much

OK I understand. The silver Touratech bar does not have any coating, they are bare stainless steel. You simply need to remove the black mark from the bar. You can use sand paper or a media blasting process to scrape off the black mark and expose the silver metal below.
