1) Why not make it when wheel on the ground, when try the nut 36mm back out? 2) When you separate control arm, why not to tap from the top of the ball joint? 3) Why exactly do you use rubber mallet for release back of axle?
@Vassiliy Smith There are a few ways it can be done. In this instance was not able to remove the axle nut while wheel was on the ground or to hit the ball joint from the top and i use a rubber mallet more for comfort and controll. My videos are geared towards using hand and common tools the average person have at their disposal which Is why I try to avoid using power tools and air tools. Great video! I'm working on my sons 2008 BMW 535xi right now and I'm have a hell of a time getting the cv axle all the way in and seated. Where did you hit it at?
@craig mcLean I just signed it up as straight as possible, twist it and use the axle shaft itself along with the flexibility of the boot to tap it in just make sure not to pull it too far away from the boot or it will separate
@@BIGWILLSCARCARE thank you. I ended up getting it in by straighting and compressing it then hitting pretty hard. All seems well but I hope i didn't hurt it getting it in.
Is this the same process for a 2014 bmw 750li? My passenger side boot is leaking and making popping sounds when turning.. do I replace the whole axle or just boot
