Lots of restrictions on the DL 1000 from factory on any gears except 4rth. Did an ECU reflash and now bike has a LOT of power from idle. Lots more power everywhere and around +5hp. Whould defiantly kill that bmw.

What I love more on the bmw than the vstrom, is the sound. The BMW sounds so damn robust... but the vstrom have such a refined engine sound...

Yeah, which just proves that if you spend twice as much, you can buy a piece of crap that's faster. It's good the Strom is in back, sos they can pick up the pieces of the Beemer as it falls apart. It may be slightly slower, but it's 10 times more reliable. The Beemer can go real fast between breakdowns. Cost of ownership is way too high. Strom would be way faster long distance cuz it wouldn't puke itself. Beemers should come with a tow strap. VSTROM, bmw recovery team.

I had a BMW and found so many things about it annoying. My v strom is just so much better. And you are right about the tow strap. I had my BMW towed three times! I was worried about taking it far from my house. Never have had any issues with my V Strom.

@@pajownik yes it is. A 90s honda xr 600cc has same power and weighs 40 kilos less than an 660xtx. 10-15 years difference and still yamaha managed to make a shitty bike that somehow became popular. Also the xr has more bullet proof engine and much much much cheaper to maintance(if u ever have to do wich i doubt). xrs were made to be beaten to death and they proved it on dakars races with zero to minimal engine and carb changes while being held flat out for thousands of miles. Its a shame xrs never became as famous as xts, might be cause of less bikes being made and price difference.

Now its ironic because i have the option between a GS and a DL, but im afraid the GS might be to big considering im used to a slimmer bike Except for traffic driving, what is the difference between the to on dirt?

Si se fijan bien en el video el piloto de la vstrom mete mal el cambio al arrancar , vstrom gana simpre a la bmw 1200, lo he visto miles de veces y siempre gana la vstrom 1000 - hagan la prueba ustedes mismos y se daran cuenta, vstrom depues de que le meta la tercera empieza a volar . vstrom es superior a la bmw 1200
