BMW I3 AC Condenser Protection Mesh 

I find the seat heaters suck.. Barely get hot at all....everyone seems to think they're super hot.. Not me.. Can barely feel the heat on the highest coding.... Do all bmw need the mesh screen? I thought it was just the early models that were susceptible to rock damage.

I put the screen in so I wouldn't get mine damaged. The air intake is very low to the ground, so it's easy to get debris into the front of the condenser/radiator. So far I have had no problems. I read from other owners that it can be pretty expensive, especially if the compressor fails.

I did not take the grill apart, I could fold the mesh (it is somewhat flexible) after cutting it to size and feed it through an existing grill hole, then tie wrap it in place from the front. You just need to use care and not drop it on the back side. If you do, have some needle nose pliers & a dowel to help locate the mesh while tie wrapping. You could probably tie some string to it to help hold it in place to not have it slide away, then cut the string off when finished. Not too hard, maybe a 15-30 min job. Good luck!
