Here is the final video on my BMW i8! Filmed this right before I turned the car in, and finally got a chance to edit it. I spent 2 years and just over 20,000 miles with my i8, and absolutely loved it. This video talks about my final opinions, a final review from someone who really knows the car well. Great review. I am thinking about buying a 2016 . I think it is about the best entry level exotic for the price. My one concern is after the warranty is up will I be in exotic car range in cost if a turbo needs repair? Or if something simple like breaks will be over 2k to redo. Appreciate any info you can share . Be well Al

I've owned BMW's for a while now and been contemplating on getting an i8. 12.5 second quarter mile times are pretty respectable, the only other car that would fit the bill would be a R8. I think the biggest reason why I would like an i8 over the r8 is the fact that it has back seats. Not so much for people but for extra storage. Anyways, great video

Great review! BTW - you can now get Pirelli P Zeros in the proper size for the i8 and these are quite a bit cheaper than the OEM Bridgestone Potenzas

I just traded my 2016 i8 for a r8 as well. Have some same thoughts about this car, only the one who actually got to live with the car can gets the point of the car. I loved the car very much. Nice review!!

I'm a fellow Michigander, Did you ever take it out in winter? if so how does it handle? Obviously wouldn't take it out with a foot of snow but just curious on how it handles in those conditions. I've been considering the i8 for a new daily especially because you can get them with 20k miles for so cheap now.

The real dilemma is this car is now $50-60k, seeing people genuinely justify the 150k price tag 5 years ago, and now having an opportunity to get one for 1/3rd of that is very enticing. Might be my only opportunity in my lifetime to own a car like this 😅

I never could understand why people are giving thumbs down on a nice informative video? anyway, very nice video and I was waiting to hear about the fuel burn, all the way to the end but you said it. great, I don't mind to ask about the fuel burn but I I hate going to gas stations. how can I ask you in email format? thanks

Would you suggest this car to someone who wants a lighter car than the M2, handles close to it and is easy yet special to drive on a daily basis? How is the ride height? Does it have anything that behaves like a limited slip differential? Also on the list are 997.1 Turbo (6MT), SLS AMG, F13 M6(for GT purposes) in no particular order.

The faulty engine problems you had were pretty scary and worrying for people who want to buy a used i8 I can’t imagine the cost to repair. A 150,000 dollar car should not have mechanical problems, but the car is awesome.

I personally just don’t like a white on a Supercar body shell I’m aware it isn’t a Supercar but it’s body is. Red, black , yellow, Blue and a orange is best for nice cars like this and no decals

I use to live in Michigan, $700 for registration is cheap compared to Las Vegas LOL I pay $600 a year for a minivan in Vegas. An I8 in Vegas would be about $2,500

I have an i8 and when I am in automatic sport mode it only uses 5 gears,... I noticed that it doesn't use the 6th gear... is that a setting or is that just the way it is designed?

Yes, it's designed that way. 6th is an overdrive gear for efficiency

IMO, the i8 should probably msrp around $80k when the same vehicle costs almost double. It's a beautiful car but the pretend exhaust noise is something you do for your kids power wheels, not a hundred thousand dollar car.

I think it's to offset the development cost. I'm not sure, but I believe BMW is going negative with all of their "i" models due to how much R&D went into the "Carbon Core" and they're desperately trying to find other uses for it (i.e. new G12 7 series)

The i8 as an awesome exotic daily driver. Just go into with the knowledge that it's quick, but not as fast as many other sports cars out there. Also. No noise. Or very little exhaust noise haha.

in belgium full electric are 0% road tax. in the beginning you got a subsidie for driving electric up to 5000 euro. funny you pay extra for a green electric car ?!

If it was faster it would still be around its slow and the Interior doesn't match up with the outside of the car bmw .are a lot of mistakes on this car if its was faster and have a bigger motor more people would have wanted them
