thanks for the awesome video. I'm struggling to get the number 8 seal in. it seems like there it too much room and the seal keeps sliding out after i try to whack it in.. any suggestions?
@@jamashn100 awesome that seemed to work. now that I have that. I cant get the shaft in. I get it in and then with about 1cm to go it just wont turn anymore and then when I try and rotate the entire unit it appears that the gear is scratching the inside of the pump. did i mess up installing the water seal?
Thanks for the vid I’ve replaced these components but after firing up the engine the pump has started to leak from that oil overflow hole. Taken the pump back off and the spring oil ring (springy part) is in tact and compressing up and down as expected. It feels like the replacement gears are grinding on the pump housing - is this normal? Not sure why the pump continues to leak despite being intact with new components! Cheers
I replaced my oil pump gear as it had evidence of pitting and rust. Therefore no seal created against by the oil seal. Perhaps this is happening? Then again, sounds like you may have replaced the gear all together.. is it oil or coolant that is leaking out? That may tell you which side the leak is coming from - the oil pump side or the water pump side. Good luck and thanks for watching.
Jamie Smith thanks for the reply! I fitted the service kit which looks the same as yours, and also had to replace the impeller as mine was an old circle shape. It’s leaking Oil out through the plug you pointed out around the 1.50 mark. Perhaps the oil seal isn’t flush? Looks like I’ll need to take the entire thing apart and order new parts again! This is getting expensive!
