The carrier is supposed to be heated to 100°c before removing the balljoints, same should the carrier be heated before installing the new parts. Do NOT heat the balljoints, the carrier only and use a electric heatgun to avoid damage to the paint. This is needed because the parts are built with interference fit. Just getting more powerful tools could end up stripping the threads out of the carrier, in the best case you only get cracks in the threads but that is just as bad. Get yourself a copy of the Bmw reprom and do stuff the right way.
What model is your impact? The one I used has 1,100 ft/lb (1,490 nm). I googled 'dewalt 3/4 impact gun' and one that came up (DW294L) is only 440 nm. So, yours could be anything. What model is it?

OK yeah, that impact gun has 345 lb/ft of torque. You're gonna need a bigger one. You can see how slowly the thing turns on mine, and that's with ("up to".. whatever that means) 1,100 lb/ft. The impact gun I used is a Milwaukee 2763-20. It's pretty powerful for an electric impact, even more surprising that it's cordless. Some air impacts are around 1,000 lb/ft too, so you could take your sockets etc to a garage and ask them to take them out. A lot of air ones are still 100 - 500 lb ft max though.
Loved the video, as I'm going to attempt this on my 2012 BMW K1600GT. How much of the front of the bike did you need to disassemble to get the forks out? I seem to remember on my 08 K12S that the upper one was accessible without a ton of disassembly. I'm afraid the whole friggin front end of the K1600 is gonna need to come apart. :( Anyway, loved the video. Had veel last van slingeren en kon het probleem niet tackelen, geen enkele motorzaak kon het probleem lokaliseren en steeds werd gedacht aan de voorband totdat ik op een engelse forum het probleem tegenkwam..jawel de balljoints. heb de hele voorkant eraf gesleuteld en een speciale beugel gemaakt om de motor op te kunnen tillen (bij het blok mbv een krik) en de voorvork afgegeven bij een BMW dealer om de balljoints te vervangen want dit was een speciale procedure (verhitten en lijmen) en daar ga ik voor een paar centen niet op bezuinigen. Totaal ongeveer €275 dus valt mee, na montage reed de k1200s weer als vanouds ;-)
Hoi Daneron. Ik heb een K1300s. Mijn schokbreker achter lekt. Ben vandaag geweest naar een specialist hiervoor. Blijkt dat voorvork schokbreker ook gedaan moet worden €1200,-. Dat vind ik een hoop geld. Dus wil dit nu zelf gaan uitbouwen. Schokbreker lijkt me te doen alhoewel ik dit nog niet eerder heb gedaan, maar de voorvork is een totaal ander ding. Is dat een beetje te doen?
Vraagje, dat slingeren, is dat bij lage snelheid? dus rond 40 tot 60, dat de voorband echt lijkt te zoeken, alsof hij in een goot rijdt? En welke dealer ben je geweest? ALvast bedantk!
