BMW M Coupe: Like Nothing Else -- /Wheel Love 

Having an MP4-12C and a Huracan next to it, and still loving the BMW this much... That really speaks for this M Coupé!

Not really sure what's with all the hate comments. Just because the guy owns a supercar he is automatically an incompetent rich-kid who doesn't truly love cars? That assumption seems pretty ignorant if you ask me. Love of cars has nothing to do with money, it has everything to do with having an emotional connection to a vehicle and not just seeing it as a flashy object for showing off or seeing it as purely a means of transportation. Truthfully I loved this video and thought the owner seemed like a really down to earth guy who really has an undeniable passion for cars.

You know someone is a real petrolhead when he owns a Lambo and a McLaren, yet he wants to talk a bout a BMW from 2000. And I can absolutely understand...

I know how he feels... Very fortunate to own an M Coupe with the S50 engine. It's such a fun analog machine. No traction control, no fly-by-wire throttle, straight-six classic BMW engine with RWD, analog dials all over the place... It's a master piece! Just love the looks, the sound, the feeling... Never selling that's for sure!

What a great ending to the vid. "The only BMW I've thought about..".braaaap! I know that feeling so well. Also, love the commentary about the "shitty engine" and "needs S54." I bet all who are making such comments have never driven an M Coupe with either drivetrain. I can tell you from personal experience that the S52 combined with this car, makes for a fantastically well balanced package. It's geared extremely well and the S52 is less problematic than the S54. Sounds better too IMO. The S52 is a great, rock solid motor. No idea why it gets so much hate.

Well I rember Jeremy Clarkson once describing the s50b32 321hp m coupe as perfection. And what is basicly an e30 under neat with you sitting on the rear axle and more power it can only come out one way. Also remembering that the coupe version was never meant to be. It was a coupe of enginers that worked after hours to build something fun out of the z3. The finnished product was presented to the board and got green light

I really need to get my S52 back on the road. 2000, 78k, gun metal paint (faded now - biggest expense to fix it up) and black/suede gray two tone seats. Bought it with a salvage title with 49k on it. I messed up the rear suspension and had to have a lot of work done to it. Now has adjustable camber/toe in the rear and semi-adjustable front suspension. Over time though I let a lot of little small problems add up after I had kids. Nothing major, I can go crank it and drive it just fine after I let it warm up and let the idle smooth out, but the car deserves so much better.

I have a US spec 2000 S52 M Coupe - of course all the other specs of this car are better, however this engine is so driveable, with lots of low down torque, revs out strong and sounds great. I do understand that it lacks any real M heritage and is less sophisticated, but considering the performance it still offers, plus the fact that the rest of the chassis spec is more or less the same (mine now has coilovers), I can't tell you how stoked I am to own it and drive it every day! And maybe one day I'll do an S54 swap haha

Of that era the E39 M5 is far better, I do remember a yellow bread van blowing up on a track day....nice video though.

Owned the 1998 roaster version of this car (non M). It was fun, but so much trouble it ended up not being worth it. I'll take an s2k or a miata with a hard top any day over it, that z3 burned me (and my wallet) forever on european cars. That said, if you like it, enjoy it!

The US version is 240 hp? EU spec is 321 hp!

Here in the UK this car will cost you about 30 gs (dollars) for a well looked after one

How about focusing this segment within 1 standard deviation of the income bell-curve? There's a McLaren and Lamborghini in this shot, which I assume are the owners "other" cars. If so, this guy is a 1%'er... He may love his car, but I can't relate to a 1%'er. He probably doesn't even know the mod's on his car or current value of the S54 MCoupe. Same goes for the guy with the clapped out Volvo 240 in the previous video... other end of the bell curve, but also a 1% who can barely keep the car functional.

I owned a 2000 model back in 2002. Massively overrated car. Lovely engine but very poor dynamics, not ‘tied down’ at all, quite skittish and loose with vague steering.

not a great production and certainly not drive worthy.
