Thanks for the review! Waiting on my dealer to get one in stock so I can get my bike setup with it. Does the data logger support linear potentiometers from 2D? Would love to get them setup on the forks and shock as well.
No problem! The goal is really to share! I think the fork and shock sensors are compatible yes. Not 100% sure but you can mail 2d they are very responsive and supportive. 😁😁
Yes it's possible but the electronically adjustable DDC must be installed at your bike to use the potentiometers. Then you also have the required analogue input channels and the rear potentiometer is already installed. You would have to buy the front one from us or Alpha Racing, the connector is already included at the original wiring.
Excellent, just picking up my new bike tomorrow and was interested in what this was all about. Looks like it can really help you analyse your performance. I have an OBDLink and wonder what data this will pick up with RaceChrono? Thanks for sharing your very useful overview.
Thanks for the feedback! This is exactly my goal. Share and try to help. Especially on this kind of subjects on which you do not find a lot of explanation. You might have noticed that I do not produce a lot of English videos. This one deserved it. 😅😅
Hi! First of all, thank you for the video. I have a s1000r-22 and installed the logger and it records when i am at the track but it only shows the curent lap time on the Tft screen, not the past lap and the fastest. Is there some modifications i have to do in setup? I have done everything like in the video. I sent a mail to 2d but they dont seem to know anything.
So first of all, you're welcome! 😅 For your issue, I checked one pic of S1000R and it should have the same layout with current lap, best and delta vs the fastest. I have to say that I'm not sure then. Can you contact me on Instagram and share some pics of your dashboard layout?
So the tiny stick that goes into the USB port stores all the information and allows you to transfer it to the laptop? Also, could you use the USB port to charge something like a phone or camera?
Hi William. Yep the tiny usb stores the data and you have to then plug it into your laptop to load them in the analyzer. It just has to be "prepared" as described in the video, through the 2d software. 😁 About using the USB port to charge something... Never tried so I'm not sure. Theoretically, I would say yes, but if the bike is turned off it will drain the bike battery... 😅
@@KoRnIcHoN1000RR Thanks for the reply. I’d have imagined that it would be switched 12v power that goes to that cable which you use for the data logger, does the light flash when the ignition is off? I could check that cable on mine as I have the USB socket fitted from the factory. I’m purchasing the Data logger this week coming, I had the activation code fitted yesterday at the dealership, that was a bit of a wait, it took 4hrs for it to upload to the bike.
Hello great video I have just bought this system went to oulton park had the lap timing screen on and it recorded nothing bmw have not got a clue and advise thanks
You'll have to do step by step. 1) do you have prepared the usb stick as described and plugged it in the bike. 2) if not do it. If yes, do you have something written on the usb stick that you can analyze with the 2d software? 3) If yes, this might be that the default starting line registered in the 2d module is not good. If no, BMW did not installed the unblocking code on the bike or your bike software is not up to date. If all that doesn't workout... Well try to contact me on Instagram we can try to have a look together.
Hi! Sorry I don't speak spanish... But thanks to Google translate... Yes you can add tracks which are not in the default list. Or even modify one which is a bit off. I will soon make a tutorial video for that. The best solution is yo first ride the track. Generate the "finish line" based on that and then push it into the 2d module. But you can also create it in advance quite easily with the help of GoogleMaps. Give me a few weeks, and I'll do the tutorial video. 🙃
Do you know if you can only buy the GPS system? I bought the new M1000 RR model and was given the codes. I just only want the GPS in order to see the lap timer on the dashboard, I am not interested in the data register. Is that option possible?? Btw, thanks for this video, I found it quite useful :)
Hi Samuel. Unfortunately not. The gps mouse is plugged on the data logger 2d which is plugged on the bike. No way to plug the gps directly on the bike. And with pleasure for the video. This is for now the only one I did in English, but I thought it could be therefore useful to more people in English... Enjoy your M! Very nice bike!!
Hi iv fitted this but it wont automatically show lap times on the tft screen, do you need to do something in settings for this to happen? Its recording times in the data logger just not showing on screen
Quick question, I’ve used my bike twice on track without setting up the usb stick, will the data logger still have the data from those track days on it meaning I can connect direct to lap top and upload that data, or will there be nothing because I hadn’t set up the USB stick first?
P.S just seen your precious reply to a question before, I missed the bit about preparing the stick. I didn’t have a laptop at the time and have just got one now so I’m really hoping I can access data from my previous two outings if they’re stored on the Data logger themselves and not necessary the stick.
@@KeyserSoze5421 hi mate. So not 100% sure, but I believe the logger writes the data only on the stock unfortunately... You can try but I m pretty sure those days are unfortunately lost... 😶 Give it a try, but I m not confident on the outcome.
You're welcome mate. Unfortunately I don't. But what you'll need is: - Activation code - 2d module (gps mouse and module) - Update of the bike. And you should be good to go. 😁😁
