im sure most people can shift normally without looking at the tach but when you're doing timed trials and require pinpoint accuracy on when to shift to get the best times, the light does help a lot.

I find it comical that all the people that made comments have never even seen our used this product. It works awesome BTW. The comment “my iPhone does the same thing” was the most asinine and comical comment. It’s ok guys….if you can’t afford it….it’s cool. I encourage anyone to go to a BMW store and try the thing out. At that point your reviews or opinions will at least hold a little water. All of our customers that have this product love it.

I guess this will be REALLY useful for the M3, M5 and M6..

Very cool, the shift lights is a useful feature for a 6-speed. The top of the wheel is in view where as the dash isn't. Of course you should shift by sound/feel but its a nice addition. May have to pick one of these up.

BMW should add an update the HUD so all this info would be displayed.

You are right about the shift lights but the data that offers this steering wheel may be useful on a track and it is a good tool to show off "Hey look what I've got!!!"

Very useful indications (i wish my IS200 had oil temp and shift indication) but the position on the wheel looks ridiculus...

Head up display is better! Head up display for all.

I think BMW should have made the display part look a bit better and more fancy. Perhaps surrounded and embedded in an area of carbon fiber. This kind of looks like it was an afterthought that was just stuck on the wheel to me. Otherwise the features of the wheels display are very cool, as are the shift lights.
