Very enjoyable review. I am tempted with an XR after owning 2 GS and currently on a 1250 GSA. I fancy a change and the XR is an itch I may need to scratch. I am torn between the M1000XR and an s1000XR TE with the M Package. the benefit of the later is that you can attach luggage which you can't on the 'M1000XR. I know I don't need 205bhp and the 170bhp S1000XR is more that enough but can't help loving the idea of the 'M'...
Thank you for your comment! I will say having reviewed the M1000xr, the S1000rr and the s1000r, they all have significantly less torque than the r1300gs. Now I do love the m1000xr, but I think you are right about the luggage! My issue with all the 4 pot 1000cc bikes is the power is just too high up in the rev range. But I do feel your pain about being torn!! Would be great if you’d consider subscribing!
@@RRGS78 Thank you for your response. Absolute common sense would dictate that I stick with my trusty GSA and enjoy the lovely low down torque. Ay Idea where I can get some common sense??? Just about to click on the bell.
Finally I found what am looking for as a review Mate WHAT DO YOU THINK I have 2023 GSA1250 and S1000RR M PKG am replacing both bikes with this beautiful bike M1000XR competition package black I love the RR seating I wish it’s a wise trade
The one I had was restricted as it had not yet had its first service, so not sure. The issue with a lot of BHP as it’s only any use at the top end where you can really use it. Thank you for your comment!
Stunning bike and having a 170bhp K1200S I looked at the XR as I fancied a change but whilst I liked it I thought losing shaft for chain wasn’t a price I was willing to pay so I went R1200RS instead and find ‘only’ 125bhp is enough without needing those silly play times big power gives you 😂😂😂😂 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YvIoBemdgxc.htmlsi=2c8csvYOXsQJM1Wv I think it’s my forever bike with the high bars , nice can …. I've just bought a used 23 XR for 13.5k, had it mapped, around 172bhp. Still can't eve utilise it's power. Why would someone then spend an additional £8000 or £13000 for the carbon version over a standard slighrly used S1000XR? It's mental..
Visually a really nice bike, but unfortunately it doesn't really have many advantages in everyday life, because on passes and in the mountains the thing is definitely not faster than my mt-09sp and I would say that I even have an advantage in the curves

That catalytic converter looks absolutely disgusting! What a shame to ruin the looks of such a beautiful bike. Again, it is Berlin! I gave up and enough said!
Stunning looking bit of engineering. I’ll consider one in 12 years when they get to my funds level 😂 BMW always have great ranges but think they are knocking it out the park now
