Thanks for a great review! Again :) What do you think of the M2 Competition in compared to the M3 CS, you did a review a while ago? Is there some of the "rawness" of the M3 CS also in this car? And is it as enjoyable to drive?

A real M car isn't all about the speed , it's about the experience of the drive and power delivery .... Something which laxksn I n the mlite cars .... But that's also the point .. the m140 isn't supposed to be an m car .... noone would pay the extra for the M car of the m lites were the same ....the m lites are an amazing option from BMW and has given the real M cars even more appreciation .... Very smart from BMW ... Also great video as usual Joe ,👍

Really enjoyed the video Joe...super relevant to me, been running an M240i with JB4 for the last 2 years, picking up an almost identical M2 Comp DCT silver this weekend (so there will be another one in the Maidenhead/Bracknell area, sorry!). Plus you took the car out on my stomping ground...practically drove past my office in Maidenhead/White Waltham! Look forward to your thoughts when you pick yours up...

Never get tired of that proper Beemer sound. Like Porsche they have their sound and BMW got theirs. It's just goosebumps and I'm jealous that you ordered one, enjoy it when you have the car!

good video Joe, also loved the other M2 comp vids you've done.. I currently drive the M235I ( M-Light), as you call it, had it 2 years with all the M-performance bodywork on it ( looks lush).. And this m2 comp is the top of the list for a replacement, when the time comes for sure.. Just found out Berry BMW isn't too far from Oxfordshire either, cant wait to see yours when it arrives

Nice video Joe. I have had my 2016 M3 for 3 years now and considering this car for next year. Looking forward to a proper review when you get your car. Early thoughts.... looks wise I definitely still prefer the M3 but if performance wise it’s similar I would be interested to change it up for a couple of years.

Great video! Was interesting to see another M Lite owners perspective on the M2 Comp - although if it is twice the car for twice the price is questionable. But that is more of a reflection of how good the M140i is as not much can match or better it for the money.

joe i've never liked the s55 engine due to sound until my friend took me for an absolute hoon in his completely stock m4 last night and till now i'm still baffed at how mad that f'in car is.when he kicked it under the tunnel my head couldn't even keep straight,i swear a portal was opened and we warped loooool.i can only imagine how mad the m2 which is lighter and has the same engine must be.good purchase mate

Great video Joe - Still love my ‘17 M2 though and although power figures are up, in all honesty anything over 300bhp on the road is plenty quick enough without losing your license - also still not too sure about sound at this point - shouldn’t have to change exhaust to get what you want I don’t think - BMW should address this on all their ‘M’ cars I reckon. Keep up the good work😀👍

Wish BMW would fix that noise, one of the reasons I sold my M4 after 2yrs ownership, it really grated on me. Saying that I would still like to test drive an M2 comp just to feel how it handles and performs. Good they put the M side mirrors and seats in this one.

Hi Joe another superb video! The Chris Harris video along with your reviews helped me choose my first 135 3yrs ago. I now have a 140 shadow in MR but I have no idea on the tuning side of things, could you explain the what the tuning box does on Ash's car. I have the Motech panel filter but that's my only mod at present (apart from Royal steering wheel re-trim!).

Great review and certainly seems like a blast. However, you can definitely call that the M140 with the JB4 seemed to take it especially if you feel that you had the jump. Obviously that will change a bunch with a tune on the M2C and we all know that motor has plenty in it.

@@JoeAchilles1 I don't need no demo to know what I want when we have good reviewers like you telling us ;) ....As always with cars unless you're "rich" it comes down to money...My Focus is 22 months old 14k on the clock...I'm thinking another 18 months and a px to a used M2 Comp might be the reasonably 'cheapest' way to go..As much as I WANT an M2 Comp..I don't NEED one..yet..drool..drool

Difference in tire temperature in the front is due to heat exchanger's location... :-) Just so you don't feel weird once you drive yours and someone else is in the passenger seat :)

I see the M2 has improved from the previous versions, I was put off with the bad reviews on the M4 as a daily driver so went and got a 440i with MPPSK (animal in sport mode!) but I agree that with some low cost upgrades, the "M sport" cars can be just as good as the Ms at less cost.

This would make a great daily. Still struggle to see why would you buy this over a nice E92 M3 as an occasional drive however. The main benefits are toys, torque, fuel economy and warranty none of which really matter for the driving experience. it just also doesn't strike me as very 'special', but perhaps that's just modern M's in general. I'd say the M lites are much more characterful in a lot of ways

Guys I really don’t know how you can get used to such narrow public roads. These are insane! Bush walls right at the edges of the road both sides.. certainly not for wide body kits...

They're amazing to drive on though when you get the right roads. The Lake district has some amazing roads but narrow. North East Moor roads are amazing one in particular Castleton, Whitby road to Kirby Moorside. I'm almost certain that one was on TopGear.

In MDM in the rain you have to be a bit experienced/careful with the throttle: Mashing the throttle, staying on it even more when already having wheelspin/going a tad sideways makes MDM think: OK this guy doesn't back off so we give hime more wheelspin and sideways action. For real drifting I put DSC totally off, off course, but MDM in my M2C (now 2900km on it) is way more loose and calibrated with way more oversteer than in my former OG M2, there MDM killed the power after 50cms of 'wheelspin' already... Hi Joe, you often mentioned the good sound of the m140i/m240i or the M2. I like the sound on the outside as well but most of your videos are shots from the inside and I am pretty sure you know that there is a Active Sound Design, so almost all the sound comes from the speakers. I donˋt like this fake sound. However, you can decode that.

I have not heard one of these in the flesh yet but have yet to hear an S55 engined car which sounds even remotely nice. Oddly, I find the N54 55 and B58 cars sound very pleasing. S54 it certainly is not.

@@JoeAchilles1I gone with the akrapovic exhaust for my M4 Comp and i'm extremely happy with the sound/performance. It'll run you $5k plus but it's pure quality. I run their exhausts on my bikes as well. Unless you've got yourself a promotional deal with Remus i'd check akrapovic full systems out Joe.

How comes that a 340 HP car plus lets say 50 HP fue to the jb+ wins over a 410 HP. The m2c is heavier?, the 140 has the adaptive suspension which is awesome for long trips and daily driving for groceries. The only thing missing un the mlite would be the diff. What do you think?

Yeah I know they see about 520 bhp. I was just saying as that b58 is hell of a tuneable engine. A n55 in the m2 would be lucky to see 420bhp with a decat and map. I’m looking forward to see what the new s58 can do
