they also have up to 2 laps! for the Porsche GT3RS Kevin had 2 laps! the other factory Driver too, but Kevin was 1 sec faster.. thing is only, they are pro racing factory drivers! and Gebhardt is a noob in racing.. AMG took for the black series GT their factory racing driver Maro Engel, you know why? because Gebhardt would´t move it under 6.55! it´s not hating, but in my opinion you can´t compare factory drivers to gebhardt times, and thats what people too, this thing, yes i´m hating! poeple think the GT3RS is so much faster than a GTR Pro, cause the was driven by a Pro and the other by Gebhardt, if Maro Engel had 2 laps in the GTR Pro, i think it could be same or faster than the GT3RS.

@@robertkrlin34 The factory drivers are probably involved in testing though and know the car very well before they even get to the ring, thats a huge difference. Also you never know whether these record cars are actually stock or not, getting a ring record is great marketing material so i would imagine some manufacturers get creative. Quite a few of these records are suspect to say the least.

They added in a bolt in (floating) cage for safety (not structural support) and removed the infotainment and seats to compensate for the weight. Lamborghini added a cage to the Huracan Performante and Aventador SVJ with the former being on "street tires" specifically developed for their attempt. I'd agree that Cup 2s are silly to be classified as street tires, but the Ring has all kinds of moving goal posts. That's all beside the point. Even with the mistake I think it's remarkable that a $33k fwd car is well within 10 seconds of that M2 after almost 13 miles. I'll be getting my hands on an M2 CS Racing later on and look forward to see what kind of improvement they offer over the M240i cars.

The rear didn't move, it just didn't turn in. Make no mistake he eased off there, not fully, but that is not flat on the grass

Crap advice. I'm assuming he lifted off the throttle a little there. If he instead planted the throttle the rear end would likely continue to grip, and he'd have more understeer sending him into the barrier.

Cheslyn Owens It is obviously understeer mate... If I were you i wont count my knowledge of driving. Correct thing to do in that situation lift of(not aggresively) and let hope front wheel hook up again.

That’s just understeer. Lifting off a bit will help the front end to grip better. The mistake would be to brake. He definitely eased off the throttle as shown on the Speedometer.

Or run the regular M2 with square 265 cup2 tires

like 7 or 8 seconds would be down to Cup 2

I think the CS is more a really good collector car like a special edition. An M2C with a good tuning + setup by Lightweight or AC Schnitzer (Tuning brands) will be faster and cheaper, but more difficult to sell later.

Yeah right it really needs that Carbon Monocoque… No seriously the more carbon fibre parts you use on this car, the more expensive it's gonna be, especially because it is limited to 2200pcs even for BMW that would be too expensive + it simply is no racecar. If you want more, go for the M2 CS Racing With a curb weight of about 1600kg including driver (and manual transmission) there is not much to complain about I guess…

Der M3 CSL war auch ein kompromissloses Renngerät und fuhr damals auf Porsche Gt3/RS Niveau. So etwas wird es leider nie mehr von BMW geben.

Der klingt völlig in Ordnung zudem hat man eben im Innenraum auch den sound durch die Lautsprecher. Ob man das braucht sei dahingestellt aber so klingt ein Biturbo R6 nunmal. Zudem merkt man dem Auto kaum an dass er einen OPF eingebaut hat und der typische OPF sound ändert sich in den meisten fällen nach 10-15t km ebenfalls.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS ja weil ein Singleturbo immer besser klingt wie ein Biturbo ganz einfach. Das klangbild kann garnicht das selbe sein wie bei einem Einzelnen Turbo wie RB26 2JZ GTE etc. … da die abgase ja anders durchströmen.

Obwohl ich mir das Auto leisten könnte, kaufe ich mir dann doch eher einen Porsche. Wobei ich BMW gar nicht schlecht machen möchte. Ich hatte mal einen 528 er, mit diesem fuhr ich vor 15 Jahren meinen Benchmark Berg schneller hoch, als mit einem Leih- 428 Cabrio vor 3 Jahren. Vor 15 Jahren hatte ich 193 ehrliche PS, vor 3 Jahren wahrscheinlich nicht die angesagten 245 Ps. Ich bin aber auch kein langsamerer Autofahrer geworden. Und Turbomotoren sind mit Saugmotoren nicht vergleichbar, aber ich war trotzdem irgendwie irritiert.

Michael Zehnder spricht nichts dagegen. Jeder muss selber wissen was er haben möchte. Bin kein BMW Fan oder Porsche aber ich wurde mir lieber einen BMW holen. Alles Geschmacksache. Nur ich mag es nicht wenn die anderen versuchen eine bestimmte Marke zu bashen. Objektiv sein ohne zu beleidigen. Du magst Porsche ich nicht. Wo ist das Problem? Ich gönne es dir trotzdem wenn du GT4 holst. Gruß

pm ayo modified? Yes but not the 7:43 time tho. Only using a roll cage for safety purpose. But not stripped down to the bones. The limited edition was even faster and after that they stripped it down and they were again faster. It was also a fight against renault. It also depends on tires and everything. Like lets accept that honda is just good at it. Better than anyone else in that price range and quality and reliability. Because thats facts :)

What I'm (and some others are) saying is that we have to be more apples-to-apples while comparing cars (i.e. comparing two cars which are available as-is at the market). Plus, there might be some unknown variables in terms of what the manufacturer cars have at the time of their runs, such as the rollcage that the manufacturer Type R utilized. That would pretty much make it more of an orange, not exactly a fair comparison.

Thats why i cant fathom the people who discuss like „oh the gti was only 2 seconds slower than i dont know a bmw with twice the cost and 150 horses more“ lets compare apples to apples. Then you can see which one is „better“ performance wise. But mostly people dont use their cars on the track or sth. Normal road cars...

Sorry die Zeit war absolut kacke. Der Fahrer hat soviele Stellen das Gas gelupft wo er hätte voll nehmen können und zum Schluss schmeisst er den Wagen fast noch weg. Ich wette, mit nem fähigeren Fahrer und Nordschleifenkenntnis, wären hier 7.35 und mehr drin gewesen. 😉

Gefahren von einem professionellen Rennfahrer. Er bewegt das Auto 🚘 am Limit. Der Unterschied ist am deutlichsten in den Kurven zu sehen. Christian fährt mehr auf Sicherheit. Ein Rennfahrer holt locker 3 - 4 sec raus + 2 sec für den Fahrfehler.

No it's not faster. Remember that track is quicker nowadays than 20 years ago. New tarmac, better grip etc. CSL with modern tires is faster than current production cars.

why should I buy a M2 cs then? you can have this understeer in a 220i. It is not about oversteering, but about having a neutral vehicle. bmw has obviously been struggling with this problem with the 2 Series for a longer time💁‍♂️

@@maxmuller4551 Korrektur : Er fährt bei 6:57 unter dem Gerüst durch. Aber da der Messpunkt Start Sportauto vor Hatzenbach , damit ca. 985m nach der Brücke (Start. BTG) liegt, müssen ( Zeit :20.6 x 0.985) etwa 22 Sekunden hergeleitet addiert werden. Das ergibt 7:19. Also tut mir leid, Denkfehler. Lässt sich damit nur ungefähr ermitteln. VG

In most tracks the M23458 and X3456M are almost always faster than the AMG Rivals. Only AMG GT series are far more superior at track performance. The RS models are like 3 to 4 seconds slower than both M and AMG. RS models recently years are jokes. They don't even respect themselves and don't respect RS fans.

@Eryk That laptime is a joke. Audi took out the rear seats, add a roll cage and replace the front seats with two bucket seats and we don't know what tires they used. That's not the vehicle delivered to you. You can just wait for the third party test. Why is RS 6/7 so slow with the same engine?

@I CUT That's exactly what I said. Top end AMG supercars are always faster. But the M5 is faster than E63s and the M3/4 is usually faster than C63s and The M2 faster than A45 and the X56M faster than GLE63S. That's a fact. You can check Hockenheim, Sachsenring and Nurburgring.
