Looking forward to your detailed review of the ride, as the stance is perfect after this mod. I have exactly the same colour, I’m in the UK. Was about to order the Eibach Pro kit springs, then came across the Macht Schnells, which lower the car by around 5-10mm more all around, and the car sits so much better for it. They’re imported into the UK so cost twice the price of the Eibachs here 🙄 I’ve reached out to Macht Schnell to find out what the spring rates are to get an idea of how they compare to the Eibachs. The reason why the M2 is not so compliant on stock factory suspension is the dampers and springs are mismatched, the factory springs are too soft for the dampers. I’ve just recently had camber plates, solid front control arm bushes and rear toe arms fitted with a full geometry alignment and it’s transformed the handling. I would love coilovers but cost is a factor right now, so looking to do springs and then like yoursel, may go the KW V3 route down the line.
Best suspension mod ? don't cheap out and replace the dampers too. The best option is BMW's own adjustable coilover kit which utterly transforms the ride and handling, particularly on poor tarmac. Forget camber unless you're track fiend. However setting up a touch of positive toe at front and halving the neg at rear will make it handle like its on rails.
I’ll usually throw springs on my cars then eventually put coilovers on. This M2 has 13,000 miles on it, I’m not very worried about the shocks. (Mostly Daily driving and some weekend cruises) When they go out I’ll upgrade to some KW’s coilovers! Although I’m very happy with how it rides and sits. The best springs I’ve ran. Nonetheless, Thanks for the insight.
👌 Looks great. You should consider an all black grill, especially with the Mineral Grey though. The chrome looks out of place on a M car imo. I'm paying down my car rn and M2 is next for me. Can't wait. Thanks for sharing your car videos! 👍
I’ve learned most of the things I know from my Dad and RU-vid! Although I’ve done suspension on F chassis BMWs 6 or 7 times. I promise the first time was difficult!
If you are worried about speed I would say get a M2comp, If you want a driver focused car I’d say N55. Overall I’d say if you’re questioning it and can swing the extra money for a comp do that. After owning the N55 and S55 M2 I really enjoy the OG M2, only thing I miss out on are the front parking sensors and the cool seats.
