@@puttitat2851 i am not bmw owner, but i have driven some real BMW not diesel ones and in most cases i wasn't impressed, that doesn't mean there aren't BMW models that i would want to own, but not the current ones. BMW stopped having great Cars with the last e chassis Cars and now they are not great they are average in quality, ence the fact that most Tesla owners came from BMW.
I love touring cars, especially European sleepers, and so the cherry on top M340i is just amazing, and I just love the fact that its a luxurious, practical sports 5 door
The Audi RS 4 is also a very good sleeper/estate car, I don't know if that's available in North America or not... But hey, even if it's not North America gets the RS 6 now which is probably the best estate car in the world or probably not because I also really like the Aston Martin Zagato Shooting Brake.

@@bestrivenofspain521 it's a really good car that, but the ride is too stiff to be an ideal daily. M340i is stiff as well, but not crashy over bumps like the C43.
I’m on my third 3-series touring in a row. I simply love them. Practical, sporty, fun. Lovely to drive. Always puts a smile on my face. Just a pleasure.
Had my M340i for two months now.. best car I've even had.. love it and the Sport Plus acceleration never fails to put a smile on my face. Always looking for fast B roads now..
I had my m340i for 4 months, I can not agree with you more. Before this car, I had a 435i and then later an s3. I must say this car is such a huge upgrade from my 435i that its hard to really put to words. When I was car shopping, I originally wanted an m4, because of the huge discounts they are offering atm, and I didn't even consider a m340i, because I use to have a 435i, so it didn't feel like an upgrade. But when I took the m340i for a spin, I was speechless. Its like 80% of the performance that m4 offers with better interior, tech and 30% cheaper than an m4. The value is just too good to pass up.
Was driving on a dual carriageway today and I overtook one of the kids in my year. He was in a 340i and I was in my a180. As soon as I got level with him he just floored it. I stayed at around 70 cuz im not racing aha but he was just gone in seconds. Mad.
@@3v3rhard you still have it? I just traded my c63s for a M340i. The suspension of the c63s is just unlivable and the tech outdated (although it had excellent headlights). I do miss the v8, I just wish the c63s had the suspension of the M340i and I would be very happy.
I got 340i “accidently” from car rent in Germany. My wife looked at me on the Autobahn, like this is the boy who finally got the toy he always wanted! Superb car! Btw. it also happens to fit 3 snowboard bags ;)
I bought a brand new m340i for 70k Cad before taxes, that's like 44000pound. And this is top of the line with all the options. Then I read the comment section and realize in some places the same car starts at 60000 pound for a base model. God I love the car prices in North America.
I drove a 2 series with that interior and I was a bit worried it looked somewhat tacky but I ended up liking it a lot, the car was blue so I loved the contrast

Adam my favorite part is that even if the unreliability was true, haters refuse to acknowledge any good aspects and just focus on maintenance costs. The people who think BMWs are unreliable shit are never going to accept that this car is excellent to drive, fast, practical, and well built.
Been investigating fuel cost for 340i vs 340d. With current pump prices (1.50 vs 1.70) I reckon petrol version costs £40 a year more on fuel for 10k miles a year. Real world economy reported as 30mpg petrol vs 40mpg for diesel.
Ryan Lee rly...... well it’s a British brand for sure 😂 it’s a Aston Martin DBS Superleggera! If you get a chance, try check it out! The interior is gorgeous
I agree! Just this past monday I put in my order for an 330e iPerformance with M-sport with all the bells and whistles, here in Sweden. Thanks for a great review. Watched this clip several times before I put in my order and also after! 🤘
Forgot to mention that it is the touring version that I’ve ordered. It will be one of the first 330e tourings built and it will be built next week when the production on the model starts. Car will be in Sweden late july 🍻

Just watched this again. For fun, I went to see Mat's configuration. A 320d. List price £42k, one available near me for £53k. Compare that with the £40k M340i 2 years ago. Gulp.
@@SM-1010 Please shut up, buddy! "Boring" certainly isn't the case with the M340i. Design always is subjective. BMW 3 Series interior design was made by purpose, to match the quality level of cars like the 7 or 8 Series. This isn't a downside at all. BMW today has the best build quality in quite every class! Mercedes-Benz and Audi are not as well built. I'm German, and I'm saying this without any bias. I'm just objective about it.
@@Porsche1969 It in fact is boring, very blocky looking with a screen on top of it. It isn't something that will turn me away from the car since we have Mercedes and BMWs in the family. There is no wow factor to it like you get with Mercedes and Audi. I would say interior quality is the same and this is where you are wrong. The BMW we have is a 3 series to be precise, and I was able to test drive a C-Class recently. They are the same interior wise, soft leather and metallic bits are virtually in the same places. Like Matt does in the videos where he shakes and pushes on the panel is what I mimicked in those cars. In addition, we have an old Mercedes SUV back when they used to call them ML it is built like a tank. I pushed on the parts and absolutely nothing creaked at all. There was carpet and nice soft leather bits down low where things would usually be plastic. They both feelgooand none of em creaked. It doesn't matter if you are German, you probably don't work at either company.
Must say it's a lovely bit of kit. Adore how BMW kept it radically the same as the e91, sure the dials and I drive are different alongside bits and bobs but it's still along those lines. What a machine too...4.1 to 60. So for 34 grand you get a box standard 340i that's about a remap away from dipping into the 3s...that was supercar territory a few years ago. You look at the latest 911 and that's got a claimed 3.5. sure the absolute animal the turbo is dips in to the 2s but what more can you want from a 3 series. I reckon Mr Watson has a thing for the 330d and can't blame you mate, I've got an e91 and live every second spent in it. It's a touring car and diesel suits it better. Still can't fault the petrol i6, that's why I'm looking at a 335i as a second car now🤣
Daniël Oost I donˋt see any need for a hard, loud and track optimized M3 or M5 Touring. Tourings are (heavier) family cars. A M Performance Model should do the job. BMW agrees with my opinion 😅
I doubt its gonna happen , I mean something like a m340i is more than enough , an M car is supposed to be the fasest , most fun version of a car and adding a Touring adds weight
I much prefer BMW’s interiors to that of Mercedes and Audi. I used to prefer Audi but I’m not keen on the touchscreens and lack of buttons. I’m old school and like a good old fashioned physical button. Really like the look of this car too. I’ve always been impressed with BMW’s engineering. Great review as always too Matt!
I have had my 330d tourer for 5 years from new and it offers great performance and economy, with good looks and space. Having owned several BMW`s this for me is the best that I have enjoyed.

There was a guy in the West Midlands that recently had his custom one off M3 touring crushed by police, as they accused it being a ‘cut and shut’ of stolen parts. The pictures are enough to make you cry. There’s been a market for this, I don’t understand why it took BMW so damn long 😅.
Emergency drive Munich to and from Prague in middle of night. SIXT counter girl looked at my reservation and said "You need more horsepower". She upgraded me to the M340i and I fell in love with this brilliant car. BMW thinks people in USA don't want it. I will be back in Germany next year and I will buy one and ship it home. It's the BEST do it all car I've ever driven.
Love how BMW engines make more power than quoted and are faster than quoted but it's rarely mentioned. Supra, same engine, all the fanbois think Toyota are solely responsible.
That's definitely not a plus side it's a big negative. BMW bumps up their real hp numbers for press cars, for me that's just pure cheating and unfair competition.
@@freshklinki93 they don't bump up HP for press cars 😂 europeans use metric HP which is a bit more than the bhp they use in North America and they are allowed to be off by like 10% I believe which 370hp is 37hp so in other words these are prob over 400bhp and that's nothing to complain about it's a BMW station wagon hitting 0 to 60 times as fast as an Audi rs3 and BMW m2 competition
I need a car with a manual and convertible, I’m stick with my old 3 litre 1 series. The stick in my car feels great and the pedals aren’t in the wrong place, even with an estate car I would still always prefer a manual, and I thought Mat agreed, weird that he said otherwise in this video, he’s getting old. This is still much better than any SUV though

I had the choice between the M340i touring and the 540i touring with M Package. I took the 5 because of some more space and comfort. It is not so sporty as the 3 but for daily use the better choice.
Absolutely i agree with you. BMW 3 series has always been the best in its class n BMW in general always the ultimate in its class n world of automotive
