@@Saif0412 I went to BMW for an E92 abs sensor. Paid £115 for it. It didn't work. So I bought a abs sensor off of ebay for £15 and it worked. BMW didn't give me a refund.

Very interesting insight. From my experiences, BMW UK don't want to know. They say dealerships are separate, deal with them. I wouldn't take an out of warranty car to a main dealer. I'd use a specialist. However, when you hear costs of £1700 mentioned, a warranty (for a sub 60k *mile* car) at circa £2k p/a is worth it if you prefer a main dealer. Perhaps it's time to change to a newer car.
Thank you for sharing your experience. You are so correct in your response to them. Actually, you were direct but calm in your reply. I would have reacted a bit more nonpolitically correct. I have own BMW’s for over 20 years and your experience is not new to me. A few years ago, I took in my M5 Competition to the same dealer I have purchased several cars in the past. The service indicator went on and took my vehicle immediately to service. I get a call from the service department my car needs a software update. I approved it. Load and behold after almost a full day of software update, I receive a call the car has not completed the update and it need to stay overnight. Afternoon next day I receive no call, so I call them. Seems the car rejected the update, and it is not operatable, so they are trying to find an alternative to download the software. Service chatted with Germany and after long chat it was determined a hard copy DVD needs to be sent from Germany to this BMW service department so they can install directly into their system. Making a long story short, this software update took 30 days. Since no loaner cars were available for 3 weeks, service manager gave me his Demo car.
I feel your pain! My local stealers in Teesside car was booked in for a recall told them NOT to wash it. They washed it 🤦🏽♀️ as washing it apparently the jet wash nozzle flew off and it dented the door they apologised and of course agreed to fix it. Was booked in a week later to fix the dent at the BMW BodyShop. I went to collect the car checked out the door panel, dent had gone looked like it never happened thankfully… but then noticed blotches of paint around the whole front end! As if a kid has gone around the car with nail polish filling in the stone chips which weren’t noticeable before and now are 1283848x more noticeable so I’m like WTF is this???? They were like “as a gesture of good will, we’ve filled in your stone chips” but it looked HORRIFIC!!! A) You didn’t call me to authorise the work b) it looks like a child has done it? They said to take it up with them tomorrow as it’s now closing time. Dealership Manager refused to do anything about it and so did BMW UK again said the dealership is separate. Rang citizens advise and believe it or not they told me BMW have broken 2 laws and to escalate it with the Motor Ombudsmen so I did that and finally a year later BMW agreed they fucked up and repainted the full front end of the car. (This is just 1 of many bad experiences with my local dealership)
Your experience with main dealers doesn't surprise me one bit. I've used main dealers for over 30 years and unfortunately this is a reoccurring theme no matter the manufacturer. Some are better than others and some downright shocking. As you're out of warranty try an Indie they tend to be more cost effective and give a much better service but like all businesses do your research first. Good luck
Good video and that dealership is a joke. Also, from the dawn of time I was always told by family mechanics, etc. that you dont replace ONE shock at a time. You replace both at the same time - otherwise you'd have to replace the second one very soon after anyway and potentially repeat the cycle again. I thought those were the basics but maybe I'm wrong? Strange for an actual dealer to just recommend one (and then not do alignment either). They're running a holiday camp.

Great video mate, its nothing new with bmw Solihull, it's taken them 3 attempts to do wheel alignment on my G30, absolutely a joke. Won't be using them again.
I went in for an oil change at my local BMW dealer (2017 M3) got a call telling me I need 2 belts and the belt tensioner, too much-play on belt $1200 just for that.. oh well 🤷🏻♂️ I guess it’s the price we pay for such cool cars 🚗
Main dealers actually don’t have a clue. My new X5 wheel alignment was well out and exhaust wonky. Brand new car. My current M340i also steering is out.

Well i have had some issues with an audi dealership as i drive an audi s3. They quoted me a price for a cambelt and waterpump previously and when i got there they tried adding 300 on top for Labour. I had to speak to the manager to get it sorted put. Good job i had a written quotation. I guess all dealerships are the same no matter the brand.
The trouble is that the sales and service staff move around from brand to brand and they bring their mentality with them. There a service guy here who I dealt with previously at Mercedes, Mazda, Honda and now here at BMW
Audi Maidstone was it ! These guys are terrible. Had my RS4 there and they charged me for service and when I checked before leaving the dealer they had not touched a thing but my car had 20 miles extra on it. They said they road test as part of service. I said ok you road test but why was the car not serviced. 20 miles is a tad excessive. I looked at my geofence and tracker and oddly my car was driven at speeds of 130 mph. When I challenged they said it must be faulty software. I said tell that to the police as I have shared the tracker data with them. I got a full refund. Another mate had his car damaged there. Proper asshats.
They don’t call them stealers for nothing dude - now the car’s out of warranty, it’s probably time to find a good BMW Indy who can look after it properly for a fair price
The service advisor was a real let down. My main contact there was on leave and I'm sure had he been there things would have been swift. The Service Manager didn't help the situation as she kept saying the service advisor is dealing with my car and wouldn't intervene with the situation to provide clarity.
From my experience with BMW dealerships I'd say that's fairly typical. Some of the mechanics can be enthusiastic about the brand but most of the desk people are hopeless. The have absolutely no idea what they're talking about, my dog has a better understanding of cars. All main dealerships are the same. Biggest crooks in the business.
You're absolutely right. The staff turnover in the dealership is high and the quality of training appears to be low. Some don't even know how to interact with customers. I even suggested to turn up at the dealership and take the wheel off for them.
That's very poor service. I've had no issues with Sytner Leicester . Hopefully BMW UK or the dealership will get back to you with some compensation for your troubles.
It's one of those.....for how long would you keep extending warranty for. The extended warranty will not cover 100% everything anyway. My warranty on the suspension was not covered as it was lowered and the extended warranty would only cover engine and gearbox. Diff, suspension, steering and software was not covered in the BMW approved warranty anyway.

Hahaha 😂🤣😂 I was a Honda fanboy until the FK2 experience. Shocking... I recall I was talking to you & you provided me with loads of great advice & guided me to BMW. Jazak'Allah Khair'an. I recall my 1st BMW. F10 M5 competition pack. What a awesome car. I purchased it through Sytner Sheffield. I googled BMW, Audi & Mercedes dealership aftercare. As in my opinion that's what matters more. I decided to go for Sytner Sheffield. The buying experience wasn't perfect. They were / are dicks. The aftercare so far 'touch wood' is with professionalism. After the F10 M5 competition pack, I moved onto the F80 M3 competition pack - as it looked nimble & aggressive. The ride in that was so harsh! But, felt good at the same time. After the F80 M3 CP. I moved on to the F90 M5 competition pack as I couldn't get the F10 M5 competition pack out of my mind but thought the tech looks more better then it did in the F10. Two different cars altogether. I liked the F90 M5 CP. The Mrs didn't & it seemed the kids didn't either! After the F90 M5 CP. I am currently in the X3M competition pack. I got a good deal on it. I believe most dealers were giving good deals on them at the time. Again receiving good aftercare 'touch wood'. The Mrs & kids love the X3M CP. I'm not that keen towards it. I prefer cars then SUV's in the high performance category. I revisited & spoke with the sales team 'the dicks' regarding a deal for the new M3 competition pack. They wouldn't knock off a £1 saying there is a huge demand for it etc etc. I looked around & it seems like I can get upto £7k / £7.5k off the retail price. Its not a deal where I want to run out there & agree to, after all its a BMW. Feels great to drive and all but still a BMW. The financial loss is high. The discount has kind of balanced the blow for me. Things are changing very fast. I'm not sure if I'm going to persue with another BMW. Audi aftercare is disgraceful & so are the Mercedes - I don't like most of their cars now, they look shit 'shape wise' IMO. The ones I like they won't even consider any discounts. The dealers I'm referring to are within reasonable radius to travel to & back from where I live. I don't know what I'm going to get next. I still like my high performance cars. I agree with your mentality. That you are considering to replace the M4. Its time to. I still reckon you should wait for the new M2 before you do. Then you got more options from the 2 series. That was quick. Regarding replacing the Macan to another Porsche. What happened there? Another expensive VW on the cards under a different brand. Hahaha 😂🤣😂👍🏻 Whatever makes you happy. Its your money. If you can, why not. If I had the money I know I would. I coming to a draught now - financially. Hahaha 😂🤣😂 I might have to go back to getting a Honda! Sytner group are terrible, I generally hunt around for good M Technicians and in the most I have sought exceptional independents who appreciate the money it’s costs on your car. You are spot on re wheel torque. It’s a book 140Nm and locking bolts are typically hand tight or 120Nm. Usually the quality of locking wheel bolts is a concern if not OEM as the bolts and keys are weaker metals or alloys. Fools and terrible mechanics use impact wrenches to do all bolts up and undo them. They pretend to torque afterwards but check your locking key. Bet it shafted. I literally swapped out all my bolts for uprated H&R. When I get my tyres I get them delivered and take it to place I trust and watch them remove the wheels and I torque them up. If I am spirited driving at 120 - 160 I need my car running right. BMW Gatwick and Brighton are terrible. Any dealer inside the M25 are rip off merchants and terrible aftercare and service. Litchfield are awesome , Munich Power are great. For Audi, MRC are my go to. I travel for good service and honesty. Would never buy any car from a dealer with terrible service dept. In the most I would challenge any rubbish service department to let their wife , child or loved one drive a car after one of their mechanics touched it. Their service is shocking ! BMW ARE Made to drive it like you stole it. Drivers have a rep so use that on these fools of service managers !!

I’m pretty sure the “wrong parts ordered/delivered” response is a common way of covering up delays or giving themselves more time to prioritise other cars - you also have very little comeback to that comment as it’s hard to prove otherwise
Sounds typical of dealerships. The service managers are always the same old arrogant types that are no use at all to anyone and can't get over themselves. My last service at Sytner BMW I really felt bit of a racist undertone from them. Also I can't believe it's been 3 years since you bought it and it's out of warranty..

I think more people should come forward and tell their stories because I bet there's lots of similar experiences. I dropped off my M2 for a service at Sytner Maidenhead and the Service Manager was just difficult from the moment I booked it to the moment I collected it when he actually questioned whether I was the same guy that dropped it off and made me show him ID. I had my kid with me so I held back with my reaction but I was pissed off to say the least. Now I'm just sharp and abrupt to them and take zero shit..... this seems to work rather than being nice and risking them taking that as weakness and then taking the piss.
Too right. I pay for my car from my day job like many people and I choose what to drive. I'm not obliged to sugarcoat stuff and make a dealership look grand in the hope of getting a discount or for RU-vid.
Come on mate, I certainly won't be fitting used parts on my car....especially from a car that's been involved in a crash. Most independent garages will use genuine parts just not at extortionate mark up on labour.
