Too right, every man and his dog has a poxy BM, the Jag beats it hands down for looks and class, a gentleman's car not a cock car like the German bore box 😁
+bodrulm1 In all honesty as much as i love the F Type, I would only take the R over the M4. The M4 would spank the V6S on a track. and i don't even like bow to begin with. The M4 just got my attention big time
Ryan B. The M4 doesn't have the image and it's too much of a track car. The F Type is a proper sports car with 2 seats. If you're gonna go sports, then go all out! The M4 is let down by styling you find in the regular 3/4 series.
The M4 may win in power to the V6s, but really the Jag is in my opinion more stylish and a head turner. If you're really wanting more power you could always get the v8 F type r. Besides if you're looking at practicality and daily use, you aren't going to be using the cars full power or top speed
I'm M3 die hard all my life a;ways dreamed of owning a E30-36-46 tho ill pick the F-Type any day. M4 is completely soulless product, M3's died at the E92 to me.
***** aweee u got butt hurt ? lol go ahead curse more mhmmm daddy will listen to your hurting , go for it mhmmm cry more have your little tantrum mhmmm daddy understand mhmmm
sometimes is hard to understand some people. It is not the first I read and watch reviews. Let me tell you something. People complained how the 335 had more torque than a regular M3. Now that the car actually has a ton more torque and is beating most of all its competitors 0 to 60 per say, now people are complaining how the car sounds. For BMW is a marketing strategies. In the future you might see BMW M3/4 with a V8 engine like the M5.
Why would ANYONE choose a bit soulless and clinical M4 over this absolutely fabulous looking F-Type Coupe? I'm sorry but I just don't get it. Are you crazy of something? Take this from a guy who has owned three Beemers E39 (530i), E28 (528i) and E30 (325ix). That F coupe must be one of the best car designs of the century.
so you've never owned a turbo beemer? no wonder you'd take the POS JAG...take this from a guy who had a 335i xdrive and now owns a M235i xdrive...there is nothing "soulless" in a beemer with turbo...go test drive one or own one before you call it "soulless".
so you owned all gutless bimmers? owner previously of an e90 335i X-Drive, and currently BMW X3 35i + e92 335i M-Sport both w/ N55, drove M4 AND f-type, guess which one is overrated, Jag. M4 is in its own league.
TheChamp 101 nothing piece of shit or old man about it.. It's time to smarten up and get out of the 80s..nothing dated about it either but you stick with your mass produced motor the smart ppl get the jag
I equate F type vs most of its main competitors to be similar to the 12C vs Ferrari 458 argument. The 12C is better in every measurable way, which you can't actually say about the F type competitors. But when it comes down to it everyone prefers the Ferrari because it is "special". Nobody is going to stop you in the parking lot to talk about your M4, Nobody wants to look at it.
Both cars are quite fast but the M4 doesn't look the goods. It looks like an ordinary BMW and doesn't have the allure of the Jag.The Jag has the better interior while the M4's looks very ordinary.Lastly the jag sounds much better than the M4's synthetic sound.I would definitely take the Jag.
BMW's are known for their clinical drive while Jags are much more driver involved and fun. The sound that it makes is amazing and the curb appeal leaves the BMW looking like a box. I put my money where my mouth is and bought the R Coupe. What an amazing car!
+MikeyonPC The M4's base price is a good bit cheaper than that. Straight off the window sticker of the one I test drove, a 2015 M4's base price is $64,200 USD not including destination charge.
how about a supercharged e46 m3 with 400hp vs this supercharged jaguar? which one would you choose and why, taking in consideration, everything they compared in this video. I would like to know everybody's opinion.....forget about they are from different times..
Had an E36 328is with the M54 package. Now have a f-type S. Both were great cars but the new BMW is no longer the true sports coupes the old ones were. I will keep my F-Type thanks.
Hey, I'm also looking to get a f type s maybe this summer already otherwise definitely next year, just curious though, how's the quality holding up? I've read a lot of people have hade issues with injectors and rear axles on these cars :/
@@MrMJB90 I sold mine and bought another Porsche, i had no problems with mine but several people in the car group had issues. Very expensive to repair so I wouldn’t own one without a warranty. Mine was great though. Good luck with your search
@@jefftaylor2695 thanks for the reply :) Yeah my plan is to get warranty / extra insurance if I'm getting one of these just to be secured against unexpected issues, How is Porsche in maintenance compares to the jag? Never had a Porsche myself yet, just mostly bmw 750 and 335 before the xf i got now
As an F-Type owner and ex M3 E92 owner I can say that they don’t compare. The Jag has something which BMW will never get - presence, style and class!! Most BMW M cars are family cars built for fast driving autobahns ..
@@dutchNFSGaming take the f type. I owned an e92 with som mods and I loved that car. It hat it all but the f type is a other League. I had to decide between F TYPE, M2, SUPRA, CAYMAN and an Aston Martin. The AM, looks awesome but hat its problems with the sport shift and some other things. M2 is so look at me im the man, not my type. Supra or bmw is plastic. Fake vents, nice strong engine but the price for an bmw m2 but the looks of a Toyota. Then there is the f type. Styling and sound outstanding. The engine as an V6 OR V6s (you can upgrade both to 400 hp without an problem) is great, well it's ford but great. Last but not least, its rare and that makes it special.
@@michaelm4890 thanks for you advice. But i still have a view questions for you. What makes for you that the m2 is a look at me type of car? It can’t be because of the emblem because you drove an m3 before. The m2 is a wonderful car. And The m2 cs is a spectacular car. Im young (21) and still have the feeling that the m3 suits me more. Because of the childish behavior and the raw sound of thr v8 i love induction noise and love honda for there vtec system so does the bmw (nano) I could take my stuff with me. People dont assume me that im taking daddies car while you do have those kind of situations with the f type. And the m3 is still affordable for now. the prices are rising very fast. I want the competition package. It goes here in Europe for around 45k dollars. And the price of the jaguar doesn’t seem to change. ICould buy one for 40k dollar. The jaguar will definitely get you laid and its the most sexiest car for the price
@@dutchNFSGaming Ok, you are 21, i didn't know that but at the end, it doesn't realy matter. The m3 is a beautiful car without an doubt but old. If you have no friends with an background or know a little bit of cars i could be an problem. If you have an garage, good friends with an background in cars or know something by yourself, its a great car. Nice sound, a lots of mods ( but be careful, it will look silly with too many) then its your car. Look for an younger gen lci, low mil and no mods. At first, ok, that's for all especially m cars younger people drive these. The don't care, have there fun and after 2 years they give it back. You don't know how they threaten the engine ect. That coul be a problem. But with an F Type or 718 cayman (s) or older (6 zyl not 4) it is different. It has more class and prestige. People are older, not wiser but grown up. (I hope you know what I mean) Yes some people will say its your daddy's car, so what. Fu... them. You work for your own money and you can buy whatever you want. The m2 is more likely a show off car. Ok, it depends where you from. For example in the eu or Germany, a us muscle car is a typical show off or m2, c63 amg, Rs5 for the younger generation. I am not saying they are bad but common. Did you ever looked at an JAGUAR XE S? V6, great sound, a lots of space, nice classy mods? That would be something if you need the space and want something different. Or something similar like masserati Granturismo, AM V8 Vantage, Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Price range is the same. But here, if something breaks down, its not so cheap and the cars are older. Service costs are around 300-500$€£ more. Porsche for example, cayman small service 850, big one 1200€ F Type similar. BMW M2 600-1000 round about. BTW, look at that: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_J1m3oOqtqc.html (from car throttle)
If you actually wanna compare a 2 sweater jag to a BMW, then compare it with a two seater BMW... Like the z4. Then we'll see how it goes from there. Probably not good for BMW
I know this video was NOT done in the US... but when comparing US prices, the Jaguar STARTS at over $15k more than the BMW. BMW base MSRP is ~$64k while the Jaguars is $80k for the V6 S (the V8, which is closer in performance to the M3/4 STARTS at over $100k USD)
I knew luxury cars were ridiculously expensive in Singapore. I had no idea Australians also had to pay such a high premium. $166,000 for a 4 series WTF
Drive.com.au Thanks 🙏 for this - I just saw a similar comparison video between the F Type & Cayman GTS - I prefer the Jag styling & didn’t see any GTS convertibles anyway.
for practical reason, Bmw, free services, easy to find a garage to repair in case, sexy(as well as the jag) less devaluation when you resell it...choice is pretty easy, better interior also...Bmw m4 is for people who own already 1 car, the jag is more a 3rd car if you are know on budget at all and don t care about reselling. It all depend where you live also, i have no clue how Jaguar is popular in Australia. This video put haters, taste and colors are for everybody, they are both really good cars that is it...pick the one you like (if you can)...
Ftype is no doubt a better car than the m4 in my opinion, however since they never made a hardtop convertible version m4 will be my first choice . I love hardtop convertible.
The n55 is much more highly engineered. There is a powerful emphasis on "efficient dynamics". The capabilities of fuel-stratified injection are a work of art. coupled with the variable turbo manifold technology. This is a strange comparison.
you are comparing a 4 seater with a 2 seater...two completely different types of cars. I love the jag, but its simply not practical if you are in the habit of carrying more than one passenger. That's the first reason I would not buy it...lovely that it is
First hand experience: the f-type coupe v6s is a real sports car while the m4 is a compromise ... But 9.1/100km.. that is utter cr** . It is 20/100km when you want to hear that Noise, but I suppose same goes for the the BMW
hmmmm, BMW M4 can be ur first car, with four seats and bigger trunk and I think more comfortable. On the other side... a Jag may be ur second or even third car with a beautiful design, incredible exhaust and nice interior also more sporty. But for used market...god damn jag win!!!
Firstly, the word is ‘kerb’, not curb. Secondly, if you think the BMW drives better than the F-Type, you can’t drive. Seriously. I’ve owned and tracked both marques and sold my last BMW and picked up an F-Type; it’s a far better car dynamically - it was designed to be a sports car, not a passenger car as the BMW was. Adding more horsepower, bigger brakes and an M badge does not alter it’s intrinsic nature.
Whats this about comparing the m4 to 2 seater touring cars ( 911 , F-Type, Stingray ) none of them are in the same class as this car and still get slapped across the face. F-Type V6S is such a clown car 3.0 SC with 340 hp ? hahahah both mustang and camaro V6 also 370z gets about the same hp and all naturally aspirated XD. Jaguar got their nice new line of 2 seaters ( lots of inspiration from aston-martin designs ) but theyr look good cars not performance per dollar cars like this m4.
Good points but the v6s actually has 380 hp. While I agree the m4 outperforms it, the V6S is no slouch. When I test drove it, it actually felt slightly faster and as fun to drive as my old e92 V8 M3. Comparing these cars. it really is a question of would you sacrifice a bit of performance for a better looking car in the f type.
You're forgetting how much power the BMW actually makes. I've seen from a few sources now that it's output is closer to 480bhp. People have dynoed around 400whp which doesn't equate to 430bhp.
I was about to blast the test driver for quoting these absurd prices for both respective vehicles, decided to read comments first (rage kicked in before 2 min mark lol) and found out these are Aussie prices. Geez I do feel bad for you guys
One tip in life, never buy a can new unless it's under 50k because if it's used you can get it for 40% or 25% of the price so my point is if you buy it new your losing 25% of your money😕
Take over M4 Convertible lease on Swapalease.com Drive it a few months and trade out for something else. Great way to get in and out of cool cars without long term commitments. Mine is the WHITE with RED extended leather interior.
