Absolutely brilliant tip, thanks guys, it took seconds to sort, when a roof goes wrong I think people just see £££ signs and don’t bother getting it sorted but tips like this are worth their weight in gold, i think I might bend the contact strip up a small amount to ensure of a positive contact continuously, that’s my tip

Whoever you are, thank you for the info and the video. I was so stress with the first its mechanical problem and paid a lot to fix it. When I found could not open the whole root I was devastated. Also I found that I put the top cover in a wrong way when it came off one day. I can open the roof fully now. Yay I am so happy. So check the position of that top cover of the boots too when the same problem comes up. Cheers ❤️❤️❤️

Spot on resolution guessed it was something straight forward as clearly power was there as previous person mentioned didn't know levers were there to access parcel shelf ,that's a bonus . Mine has just had roof cleaned guess that's how it occurred. Thanks for video .

Lol mate, me n the missus also hate her once loved Cowley lump. We had exactly the same prob and loosening those 2 side panel brackets did the job. Thank you for a brilliant video which got the crock of #@*# back running again.

Is there a way to override/disconnect this sensor, I need to remove the parcel shelf and leave it out of the car but still want to operate the roof. thanks if you can tell me how to do this

My roof was working fine until a few months ago when I picked up a carpet cleaner and put it on the back seat. The roof was still closed at this point. A few minutes later, because it was a nice day, I decided to open the roof. However, I hadn't realized that the handle of the carpet cleaner was stopping the roof from retracting. As soon as I did, I obviously moved it and tried again. Nothing then and nothing since. It opens for the first part, but won't fold down. Any suggestions please?

Hello, my 05 Mini Cooper only retracts halfway. No red flashing light. I have tried resetting the latches and making sure the switches are being pressed.

Hello there..I'm in need of help and wondered if you were the man that just might be able to solve the problem. The boot on my 2010 Mini Cooper convertible is locked shut!! Prior to it locking shut I would be driving and then all of a sudden I would have a message on my dash on the round screen to say that the boot was open. I'd have to stop the car lock the car with the key fob a few times and it would eventually lock. Now it just won't open however many times I press buttons!! I'm thinking it might be an electrical fault...any ideas? Many thanks.

Hi, I'm having a nightmare! so a year ago my mum's roof wouldn't release from the frame of the windscreen, The motor sounded but it would only move half an inch, I gave up as didn't want to burn the motor out. So the other day I cleared the boot out and by chance I tried it again and it opened, well the sunroof bit did, I went to close it and it shut a little then stopped and the motor went quiet again just a single light click sound each time i pushed the button, I went through the window resetting and disconnecting battery and worked once a little then stopped. So today after disconnecting the battery overnight I tried it again, firstly I did window alignment twice then tried the roof, it shut and reopened then stopped and the motor is making a loud buzzing noise and won't move when I try to move it. Any help would be greatly appreciated guys.
