How to set the N14 engine camshaft timing WITHOUT the special cam locking tools. After a seized inlet cam problem on a 2007yr MINI Cooper S the need arose to set the cam timing. Easy to set up the camshaft timing without the special camshaft timing tools, if you want to, or you can’t get the tools, as shown in this video.
It was partly to see if it was possible, partly for a challenge and partly because I didn’t want to spend more money on this car, was why I decided to see if it possible to set the valve timing without the special camshaft locking tools that are recommended. And yes it is possible!
