Wonderful! I was just thinking about you and checked to see if you had the video yet and here you are! More people are wanting to go to the XT on the Forum I go to so this may provide some great help. Thank You!
Haha, thanks for that and of course you’re absolutely right, I hadn’t realised I’d actually said that LOL (when editing I watched it back dozens of times and still didn’t realise what I’d said ! Anyway, thanks for watching an pointing that out (let’s see if anyone else notices) LOL
Great video, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I agree with you, it is really a great bike and there is very little to complain about, like the noise coming from the front tire. The following could be a complaint for some people though, a few known issues with the gearbox input shaft. There is currently a recall from BMW because of this. You may want to check this with your dealership, all they need to do is to update the software.
Hi, yes the noise from the front tire on the slightly less than perfect quick shifter are really the only things I can pick on. I do know about the recall and mine will be in for a service very shortly and I guess they'll sort it. But I gather it's only any cause for concern if you are serious off road rider, which certainly isn't me LOL. Glad you enjoyed it, and yes we’re pretty lucky, but you have some fabulous countryside in Scotland too, I’ve never ridden in Scotland, maybe some day. Thanks for watching.
I use my phone with the bmw cradle device and it functions very well controlled by the wizard wheel. The bike is super comfortable for the pilot and pillion. Loads and loads of sweet torque. Lovely to ride on any condition. I have other bikes but I’m always eager to ride the GSA
Gday. Thanks for the post on the GSA. The Kalamata olive colour is awesome - I also have exactly that too. I have fitted the Garmin XT and was interested in your mounting solution. Can you please share the details on how you mounted the GOS in the connected mount. Cheers Anthony.
Hi, no I didn't buy anything extra, all I did was use the piece that clips into the back of the XT (it comes with it), but I re-drilled the four holes slightly further over and down (about 3mm over & 3mm down if I recall). I then spaced it off with about three small washers under each bolt and hey presto the XT will then clip into the std BMW cradle perfectly. In order to be able to still lock it in place I then cut down an old 6mm drill bit and drilled a hole that would accept the end of it into the BMW cradle so that the drill bit slides under the bit of the XT mount that releases it, (meaning you can't push it down, so it won't release). That probably sounds a bit confusing but it literally only took about 20mins, cost nothing and it fits perfect. I'll most likely do a short video on how I did it at some point (I think a good few people would be interested), just not had chance recently. Hope that's of some help, thanks for watching and hopefully you've subscribed, as it's FREE and it greatly helps the channel grow).
@@Carlshandlebarsandholidays Thank You for the great reply. Yes a video would be just great as I know more than a few people are wanting to use the XT but the adaptor most people use is back ordered.
@@ericjames7680 Hi Eric, ye leave it with me, I'm off on holiday for a few days tomorrow, but I'll do me best to get something up pretty soon when I'm back 👍
Hi Eric, a short video showing how I did it will go live on RU-vid tomorrow at 5pm (West Aussie time), it's a bit thrown together but hopefully it's of some help to you and others ..... cheers H&H
Yes, the Zoom XT to the cradle is the way to go. What is the way you did it, please? I'm at that point and want to do what you did. I need that adaptor. Thank you. BTW, you are more than an average rider with all the bikes and experience you have, I'll tell you that my brother.
Hi, if you check out my other vids I did one detailing exactly how I did the modification to the OEM cradle (it’s really quite easy). Thanks for watching and thanks for your comments. Take Care & Ride Safe 👍
@@Carlshandlebarsandholidays Yes I'll do that since I subscribed to your channel. I love your content.I'll be catching up on lots of your videos. Thank you for the heads up!
Yes and you would think it would be a relatively simple thing for BMW to sort wouldn't you, shame really. (Thanks for watching and hopefully you've subscribed, as it's FREE and it greatly helps the channel grow).
As good as this bike is at everything, I just couldn't live with it. For me, it was a soulless, bland, grey bike. I now ride an Indian Springfield with loads of chrome, looks to die for, and a big thumping jewel of an engine. Now I'm happy.
Hi Frank, yes I get what you're saying and I've had the big 1800cc all chrome Harleys and a 2500cc ROCKET 3GT, it's very much a case of each to their own isn't it, I think at different stages of our lives we just want different things, it wouldn't do for us all to be the same would it. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching.
I can’t really answer that, the bike had the screen with the bracket already fitted when I bought it, so I’ve not experienced it without. From what I’ve heard & read though, yes I believe it does. Thanks for watching. 👍
Hi, I’ve just done a short video on it, check this out Zumo XT to BMW Nav Cradle Instal ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t98dNshj13g.html
