My wife’s father was a German Romanian and she wants to tour the country. I’ve shown her some of your videos and we are both looking forward to touring.
I really appreciate the way you`re producing your videos the dialog format, exchanging impressions about the bikes you test sounds very natural and you end touching the important differences between the machines with a very clear explanation. It is an intelligent manner of doing the job and it is a nice one too. Thanks for this well made comparison and keep up the good work!
Thank you guys! Great video and comparison of these two bikes. I have been on the fence deciding between these two (and the Multi 950.. and the Tracer 900GT..), but have decided on the 900XR with most of the options. It's not as fast or "premium" as the 1000xr, but it rides amazingly well and to me feels like a much better "all around" bike, IMO. Thank you again, and keep up the great work!! Cheers!!!
Simply the best bike reviewers…fun, informative, well edited and a great resource of information for those considering these 2 wonderful machines. I’m slightly biased, I ride the F900 XR. Your euro roads are wonderful. Come visit Canada one day, we have some great terrain and roads too, especially the west where I live, Vancouver, Whistler and beyond!
Not sure how RU-vid destroys interesting videos to promote their “premium” services but, ten advertisements is a good start. There’s got to be a better platform!
I bought the handle bar raiser. But the standard GPS mount and raiser was not compatible when you try install the GPS mount on the Handle bar together with raiser. The GPS tower is the solution. Thanks for that.
You mentioned that you were riding the the 1k in dynamic mode. Did you try dynamic pro as I know the mid range torque is noticeably better in pro mod than just dynamic., although it still requires the revs.
Having ridden an F900 for coming up to three years now, it's biggest strength is its physical size. The S1000XR is strangely enormous compared to the naked S1000r. The 900 is the Goldilocks motorcycle for city and touring.
great review and I agree on the F900 XR (as I ride 1 too ;) ). I have the MRA touring screen with spoiler where I can easily see above with no problems and buffeting on the highway with the high setting. the handlebar rises are looking very interesting.
Could you write down the name of this charming village? Looks incredible. I'll ride across Romania this year and I hope to see it. Greetings from Poland H (Varadero 1000)
@@RacingandAdventure Thanks. I've been to Romania twice. Brasov and Sigishoara are incredible. I left my heart in your country and decided to find it this year :)
The original 1000 bike has more midrange than the old one, you have to rev it so much more, the old one is a tall sports bike, the new one much more sports tourer, I thought the small one was more fun to ride, kept the old one and now done over 50,000 miles on it.
I have ridden the old one 2015 sport se I think in red. (Had everything on it) if nothing else I didn't like the single headlamp on one side for low beam. Or the little tail light above the number plate right on the end of the long mudguard extension piece. Looks like an after thought like they forgot it needed a light on the back.
interested in F900XR mount for GPS, but one that will take a mobile phone? I have a Samsung A70, quite big, as it will pair with the bike and all my routes, POIs are saved on google maps makes more sense? if you have come across any or know of any mounts please let me know. thanks.
Very nice review (gosh those windshields are ugly tough) and super nice filming location. 😊 (can you add the details of the location in the video description?)
Can't beleive you are no more Christian. Just heard the terrible news. I really enjoyed your videos. You were as good an experienced of a rider as any of us could hope to be. Makes you wonder what else one can do to stay safe out there.
I think the XR 1000 still vibrates mostly in the front not in the foot pegs though but believe the 4000rpm you can always feel the vibes. That’s the downside about this bike for some reason BMW couldn’t eliminate the vibes on this second generation.
Nice informative video! I have the same starting issue with the F900XR but it's only when i fill up the tank with E98 petrol. Filling it up E95 has no issues.
Hi Guys, Great video, confirming my choice to order a F900XR, waiting to be delivered About the windshield, can you tell me which "exact" model you got, as there are 3 sizes for such model (Z2386, Z2387, Z2388) on Hornig site. I tested sport model (red) and this is definitively not good protection, and I'm looking for new one Thanks
This XR 1000 isnt fitted with the forged wheels like the 2020 Xr100 you test rode last year. Can you tell the difference? Would the XR 1000 fitted with forged wheels steer faster ?
My Tracer 900 GT would leave both of your BMWs in the dust through the twisties. Plus this triple sounds better than both of those combined. Still, I adore your videos and love Romania. Greetings from the other side of Danube.
Not in a million years i would trade my xr for the tracer 900 what were they thinking with that dash oh boy so ugly, the tft of the bmw’s is just class leading.
179 kg payload on a wannabe-touringbike? :D Cute. And no - your Tracer won't leave the BMWs in the dust. I tried them all in the Alps for a few days. The Tracer is nice and okay. But no match.
@@oliviermissal8739 dash on my Tracer 900GT is beautiful, you are mixing it with the tracer 9. Dynamically, aurally and price wise tracer 900GT is not just a match - it's better. Badge snobs will always defend their investment because they will never admit they've bought a wrong bike and paid for it way too much. It's OK though, it's just funny how fan boys get butt hurt and immediately comment on someone else's comment even though it has nothing to do with them! 🤔😉😂
One thing to notice for all those who get butt hurt with my comments : in every review, no matter which site it is European brands will always better Japan's or Korean's manufacturers. Even though reviewers might not get "freebies" from these brands only but I can't help but notice that fan factor always takes over common sense approach. If that is not the case most of the people would make common sense approach rather then emotional. Now that's OK, I'm European myself but let's be objective far east always gives you much better wack for your money and by far superior reliability and built quality. And when I say built quality I mean actual built quality, not perceived.
@@interceptorm5I don't know if you're referring to me. If so: I'm not butthurt and I drive a Japanese bike myself ;) Still - your Tracer GT is no match for the two BMWs when it comes to driving in the Alps.
The guy with the yellow shirt is hungry and thirsty he was a union break. It's time for a beer. What do you like better S1000XR or F900XR? Tell more about the 2022 S1000XR and F900XR? I won't lot more information about them?
No offense but the person on the S1000XR wasn't confident enough in my honest opinion, S1000XR > F900XR all the way, in every aspect. Fun video to watch though!
In the UK and Germany the lowest is 95 Ron. Wouldn’t make much sense for a German company to make a bike that doesn’t run on their countries 95 Ron fuel. I had a F900r; I never had any starting problems running it on 95 or 98 Ron petrol.
@@dasp125 just because you didn't have problems doesn't mean they don't exist. Go to F900 Forum for proof. It's very common. Also, might I point out, your 95 is like Oz's 91. 👍
If will have to get a power increase otherwise shiftcam has no real point. Gs gained higher end power with shiftcam s1000rr gained low / midrange with shiftcam
Well it’s the 1000 for Me…. China made engine is not helping My county and government… but neither is My county and government helping itself… so I can’t in truth blame China for Americans problems
That engine is designed and built in china by Loncin, known for copying Honda engines for years. 👎 Not worth buying that bike when you have Japanese bikes with engines still made in Japan for the same amount of money. 🤷♂
