Just got a 300k mile e34. Still running and ac works. No rust. Just leaking from every gasket and seal. Centersupportbearing causing slow takeoff and gear change. But definitely gonna use your videos. Preciate ya.
Wow, a BMW with that many miles and running! I guess that venerable inline 6 cylinder must be paired with a manual transmission. Great video, keep it going.
If it still leaky change the rubber washers or add a extra metal one. The studs stretch over time and the blind nuts cannot make enough pressure on the valve cover, thus gasket doesn't seal.
Nice video Phillip, love the approach you take with making these videos. Will definitely keep watching and recommending these to my friends so they can learn as well.
Phillip, a couple of questions. What make of gasket did you use? Does one need to use the bolt seal valve cover grommets (rubber) and do you need to torque the bolts after replacing. Thanks
I dont show torque specs intentionally because not every vehicle is the same. I would look it up whats the torque specs are for your year make and model. But its not extremely tight. Do it by hand from the center criss cross and work your way from the center bolts to the outer ones. Go a couple passes not fully tightening it the first pass
I literally just replaced mine about an hour ago just let the silicone settle it shouldn't take long since its just a thin film of it and you should be good to go since the gasket is what keeps everything sealed tight
Sick, jus got it done, I tuned it on for a couple of minutes jus to see if I fucked it up. Was fine but im going just going to let it set it until tomorrow
