In this video I will show You how easy you can repair an armrest on a center console in less then 2 minutes.
Hello this is GianniHow, I made this video as first upload for my channel (we got to start somewhere).
I have been dealing with this shaking armrest for a while now, then i thought maybe I'm not the only one. This is for a Bmw X1 E84. I hope to help you out in fixing that shaky annoying armrest and go back to quiet in Your car.

Thanks for the video! So, a couple of days ago mine started sliding more, like more loose. Hopefully it was this like screws loosen after the years. I will try this weekend your method and let you know! But I am positive about it

I have the same issue with my bmw 1 series. Would this be the same process. 2012 plate. - Armrest is shaky

Yeah, no need to un mount the whole unit, just remove the cover and screw them back 💪

How do you take the armrest off in the first place please?

Hi there, thanks for watching, I do strongly advise against removing the armrest, it can be easily fixed while attached, just remove the screws covers and screw them back in, if you really need to remove the armrest for other reason, then, you got to remove the back panel where the cigarette lighter is, the there is a long pin that goes through the armrest, remove that with a screwdriver and a hammer, there are 2 springs on side, remove that and don’t lose them, they will give you some headache to put them back, if you can let us know, we curious what in what you decide 👌 Good luck 🤞

Hey Gianni, My arm rest has come off completely and in the process of holding on to it before I can put it back on, I've lost the screws. Any idea where I might purchase new ones? And if so, what should I get?

Hi, can find them in any DIY shop, auto parts stores, eBay and any other website of this kind, just look for “T20 Screws” if you have one left try to confront them. Hope this helps 👍

The top actually fell out of mine and I’ve been looking at how to actually remove the part its attached to

On the back you got to remove the trim where the cigarette lighter is, unplug the cables, then there is a long metal pin that goes all through it with 2 springs on both ends, with a small screwdriver and a hammer push the pin out, it’s easy to remove

Ciao, avresti indicazioni su come smontare il bracciolo per BMW serie 2 grand tourer per sostituire il gancio clip per la chiusura?

Ciao Roberto, di che anno e la macchina? comunque in generale sui modelli vecchi, si rimuove la trim posteriore, dove sta l'accendino, da li devi rimuovere il pin centrale, ti consiglierei di fare la riparazione senza rimuoverlo completamente, e un po noioso da rimettere apposto
