According to the instructions that come with these yoke type compressors you have it mounted on the spring backward... Or upside down in this case. Just thought I'd mention that since you described it as being "sketchy" then that detail probably matters.
The link with parts is on back order. I've looked everywhere for a replacement strut kit but can't find it. Do you have any other places I can order those parts in a kit so I don't have to order one by one?
