I have a late generation N55 (2017) and it with the M Performance Exhaust it sounds really good compared to the same N55 I had in a 2013 model year car. Still the B58 beats by far both the N54 and N55 for exhaust sound even fully stock
I’ve got the M140i with the full race Remus cat back (pre ppf) and it doesn’t sound like the Remus in the 440i. It sounds more like the M Performance cat back. Great video tho, as always!
So glad I opted for an N55 (M235i), sounds so much nicer than all of these in stock form too (minus the MPE 440i). Going to get a used MPE for my M235i in the near future and go from there.
Any bmw x40’s model equipped with the B58 engine, the best sound possible, deeper, throaty and intoxicating addictive burbles and crackles is with the MPPSK (MPerformance Power and Sound Kit) oem quality, 2 years fully warranty, comes with their own tune and adds 35-40HP, I got mine installed this week and I received a totally different car, with the option through the valves on both sides to keep it deeper than stock but still incognito, unless revs touch the 4K rpm’s it screams and when u ready for waking up the monster just touch Sport or Sport + and the forecast changes to hard thunderstorms, insane!!!!. @@javiertorreszuniga6766 I do but honestly prefer the MPPSK it comes with mid pipe and you have the control over the second valve, the mpe it’s only the muffler. 👍🏼
@@javiertorreszuniga6766 I bought mine directly at the bmw dealer and paid 2600 with installation, it comes with 2 years warranty. If you can do it!!! It’s a different car after. So much power in the b58 platform. I don’t have any tuning and for me the MPPSK it’s the key to wake up the dragon 🐉 lol
Meh.... any way can you get a hold of Remus and maybe take a tour or something? I'm only asking because I've heard of their exhaust but I have no clue how big or really how good they are. I've seen it for my car, the Alfa, and a few others but when I see their descriptions, they're not very thorough. Just an idea for an episode maybe later on down the line.
The stock exhaust of facelift M135i's was quieter, then the M140i was even quieter, now it has a particulate filter as well they are nearly bloody silent. A far cry from the original M135i's.
Sounds pretty similar to the old 2jz I guess it could of been a good decision for the new Supra after all can’t wait till a company makes a new front bumper tho so it no longer resembles a glorified Miata
No valve means it stays loud in other words: did you ever try to permanently open your exhaust valve? I did and the result is the car has the same tone from eco mode to sport +
Not really i have HJS 300 cell DP and stock Exhaust. Sounds really good but I also have exhaust valve fully open for the pure sound! The bad thing ppf have is no pops after being heaten up...

I understand everything is subjective, the Lotus content was excellent, informative, and especially the owner experience of the 400, I accept Lotus is niche at best, but surely exhaust comparison has been done to death.....please don’t start wrapping your cars next....MrJWW also hinted at a new direction in 2019 and maybe having watched his excellent film prior to this exhaust compilation skewed my perspective
They all sound kind of crap? Guess it's the engine and gearbox combo which doesn't impress me at all. I particularly don't like the farting when the automatic is upshifting under load. And the stupid pops and crackles...

@@javiertorreszuniga6766remus is loud akra is tone and mppsk is like to much metal sound like 2 coke cans popped in your exhaust... better with remus the b58 characteristic will always sound the way make it louder ist the most important thing why you wanna get another exhaust on your car ;)
