BNHMRS Model Rail Show 2020 Part 1

The Basingstoke & North Hants Model Railway Society (BNHMRS) held its 37th show over the weekend of 14th/15th March. Interesting and varied layouts were on display and the show was well worth the visit.
The layouts featured in Part 1 are:
Sherton Abbas - 7mm scale - David Stone
Calstock's Halton Quay - 0-16.5 scale - Chris Peacock
Oakley Green - 00 gauge - Jamie R. Mathlin
Two Bridges - 00 gauge - Martin Barratt, Loddon Vale MRC
Titherleigh - 00 gauge - Liphook & District MRC
Beggarwood Lane - 00 gauge - BNHMRS
West Country Cement - 00 gauge - Hornby Magazine
Aberdovey/Aberdyfi - 0 & 0n-16.6 gauges - Tom Snook

The backdrop on the Oakley Green layout is amazingly accurate......the continuity is so realistic, Well Done!!

Thanks Tony, the background on the Oakley Green layout is excellent. I don't know if it is the case with this layout, but some layouts use actual photos of an area, stitched together using a computer and then printed out.

It does make me chuckle sometimes that _so_ much effort has been made to make some of the layouts _so_ realistic, and then the operators run the locos to fast, accelerate or decelerate unrealisticly, crash into the buffers and suchlike.

I totally agree, it turns me off watching anymore, despite the better parts of the layout.

@@johnstubbington5163 - it wouldn't stop me watching it as I love looking at the amazing scenery. I just think after all the months of hard work to make it life-like, sometimes the operation let's it down.

I understand and it does spoil the effect the layout is trying to portray. However, I usually find that there is something else more interesting on the layout that is worth videoing.

thanks for filming these shows . i live in the states and dont drive and my friends who would take me to shows have hence passed away so i dont attend shows anymore .this brings back memories as i can attend these shows again from home via your camera. thanks again.

Thanks for your comments, Alan. Sorry to hear that you can no longer attend these type of shows anymore. Unfortunately, you will have to rely on my back catalogue in the near future as all shows in the UK are currently cancelled.
