BNSF oil train with 36 Scale Trains River Counter tank cars, Tangent buffer cars and 1 Intermountain + 2 Athearn Genesis GE ES44AC. Run through Waycross and Clifton, Texas on my Texas themed modern HO Union Pacific layout.
I agree. This video has convinced me that I will NOT put bells on mine. I was just barely able to hear the horn as the train passed. Great video otherwise. Bill
The bells are not overpowering the train sounds, but the camera was sitting right next to the speaker. If you have the sound of trains and horns, you also need the crossing bells. Or just put up a crossbuck.
Great runby and beautiful layout! Awesome scenery and details yet not overdone! So you like the new Tsunami 2's? I only use Tsunami as well but yet to try the new version, glad you are happy with them! Cheers Gregg.
They are aboslutely beautiful, but with a lot of delicate details, so be careful when handling them. They roll good as well, but I had problems with their couplers. The couplers look very good and correct, but many came uncoupled when the slack runs in. Scale Trains sent me a bunch of new couplers and after that they seem to work fine.
Hi. My 11 year old son LOVES your model layout! How did you make those so realistic ? For a minute, he thought they were real. Do you have a blog or how-to video on how you put this all together? GREAT WORK!!!😊
There is no Waycross, TX, it is a made up name because my main city is fictional. I got the name from Waycross, GA because it has a good sound to it. My Waycross is inspired by Pittsburg, TX and Hearne, TX which both have active diamonds. The other towns on my layout are made to resemble the prototype, closest being Livingston where the courthouse, firestation, bank and surrounding buildings are modeled close to the prototypes.
There is a function on the traffic light controller that makes it flash red in all directions when you ground an input. It is wired to the bell output of the grade crossing controller. The traffic light is a Bakatronics controller and the grade crossing is a Grade Crossing Pro from LogicRail Technologies.
