That's what makes it even better Because picture this a person who doesn't know bo burnham at all watches this and thinks "how the hell did we get here " and then they think of all the possibilities of how they got there then watch the special and then go "wow okay" Sorry I just think that would be so funny
For a bit I thought that the time between the Bezos tunes in the special was a milestone for a certain amount of money that bezos makes but I couldn’t be bothered to fo that math
@@jacksonknuth8503 Disagree. Inside isn’t actually a bunch of random disconnected songs. The seeming randomness of some of them is intentional to the full narrative and you find out some that definitely seemed random weren’t. It’s SUPPOSED to feel like he’s just doing silly songs to start, because you assume thats how it’s going to to be the whole way through. You assume some songs aren’t connected but then you find out they were. It’s like those jokes you find in a lot of standup where smaller jokes are told throughout are brought together at the end for a bigger meta joke, except this was done musically. As it goes on more and more of the songs are about HIM specifically, then they’re more specifically about him making Inside and then his own artistic journey and insecurities. There’s a reason he didn’t use all of the Jeff Bezos songs in Inside (the others can be heard in Outtakes), and that’s because he didn’t want to make Inside about ABOUT Jeff Bezos. Like people would inevitably ask why is he’s so obsessed with Jeff Bezos and start asking what the meaning was. And ironically having them ALL would make the Bezos songs seem LESS random, which ironically means he intentionally wanted only 2 Bezos because he WANTED it to feel random. The first one was random, the second time we have a Bezos song it’s a joke about the fact that hes doing another random Bezos song (and that Bezos was doing very well in the pandemic) AND it plays after he’s lost his mind a bit more, hence the crazy Ghillie suit AND it appearing right after saying he’s only making Inside for himself now and no one’s going to watch it anyway becuse he never wants to stop. More than that would imply something he obviously didn’t want to imply. A lot of Outtakes are absolutely good enough to have been in Inside, but this is how you can tell there was a point to it. If it was all truly random there’s no reason NOT to include many of them. Outtakes actually PROVES that it was all chosen to flow the way for a reason, rather than it being that he put parts/songs in just because he made it so didn’t want to waste it. Even Sexting actually is very relevant, it starts just after he says “I’m horny” and is about wanting intimate human contact while not actually interacting with anyone physically which in lockdown was the reality for many more people than normal. The Outtakes song about him and his girlfriend was great but he didn’t include it because it would take away from “I’m alone, lonely and by myself stuck in this room” theme. Even FaceTiming with my Mom is also about being unable to go see your parents physically. The stuck in your room song comes up several times in various ways and is about lockdown, him making Inside, AND his own artistic journey. THEN he brings it back later and weaves it into Welcome To The Internet which seemed disconnected when you first heard them but now you realise they aren’t. Genius! There’s a flow to it which is why Get Your Fucking Hands Up doesn’t play at the beginning, White Womans Instagram doesn’t appear at the end, and Funny feeling isn’t played directly after How The World Works. So it is tied together, the context is the way he chose to edit it together and here’s the point… the songs MEAN something different when you see them in context.
IMO, “Inside” is number one for the whole decade. Number one comedy special, number one album, number one film. Can’t get enough of it. I’ve become a total Bo Burnham fanboy. He’s had an effect on my StandUp (for the good, I hope.)
@@isaacgardner7722 Fair enough. Just the same, will you agree to contact me in 2030 and we'll see if anyone surpassed Burnham. I may be wrong (of course!) but I'm willing to bet that no one will. People will be falling over each other to praise this effort for a long, long, long time.
Comedy special I can see, I'm not one to speak on movies cause I havent seen a lot of 2020-2021 releases but gotta disagree heavily with album since there are already many albums that surpass it for me. But media is subjective so yeah, just giving my personal opinion.
@@greentaigo2552 I'm all for people disagreeing with my "personal opinion" -- as long as the disagreement is thoughtful and respectful. Just out of curious, which are the albums you'd recommend for top of the list?
Since this randomly blew up, I just want to clear 2 things up. 1. Yeah. The special doesn't really have context. This video is more a summary of the special and I wanted to give it an eye-catching title, so I went with this one. It seems to have worked in regards to getting people's attention, I guess. 2. I'm not making fun of Bo, his struggles or anybody's elses for that matter. I'm a big fan, enjoyed the special and wanted to create a video from it. This isn't to point and laugh at Bo, it's just to show how great this special was, in a shorter amount of time. Thank you to everybody who has tuned in and shown love. Obviously I can't take much credit for this video seeing as it's all Bo's work but I appreciate you guys coming to my little section of the internet.
If I need a good cry I stick inside on... which is funny because a comedian making you cry is...not the intention right? But it hits different to anything I've ever watched. Amazingly talented dude.
Ever wondered, What If INSIDE Was A Horror Movie? Yeah, you probably haven't. But I edited this spooky trailer for INSIDE anyway. Check it out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uojC8wmVlug.html
Love that you hid the best moments, and gave reasons to actually watch the special if you haven’t seen it before this video. Super cool, and showed respect to Bo.
if someone asks me one day "what was the specialist special for you" ill have a who truck filled with specials that is somehow so special to me ill sell me soul to watch them forever
ok but the part where he couldn’t talk at all like he was trying but he couldn’t made me sob bc I get that. I do I get that. like the anxiety building up until you can’t even like physically can’t even speak trying to record yourself.
Bo Burnham's WHOLE CAREER is out of context pretty much. But at the same time, the Inside album is very much in context, probably one of the most if not THE most in context album ever made.
I just searched it up and found out the inside special was filmed in his girlfriend's guest house which is now available for sale....I thought it was his own house and just filmed the entire special just casually in his day to day life...and then just sort of gave it to Netflix like " here you go"...I am so stupid.😭
