Fran McAllister seeing him looking like an adult made me feel really old. When I originally started watching his videos, I was maybe 3 years younger than him. Cornflack His ‘Make Happy’ special was known to be his last one. He wasn’t happy with where he had gone career wise. He thought that he was becoming a hypocrite by having performing taking over his girlfriend and life. If you watch the last 10 minutes of the special he gets down to earth with the audience. Definitely worth a watch!

I must say, that despite the irony of Bo' s presence on a talk show, it is in my opinion not a "hypocrite act", as I have seen writen here. It is a movie promotion before anythinh and it doesn't involve him only, but young actors whom career might be changed for the better if the film does well. Furthermore, I think the mindset of 25 yo guy trying to deal with fame is not the mindset of a 27 or 28 yo writer/movie producer. I completely understand his choice and am really happy to see him doing so well.

@MargueriteTruckey
@MargueriteTruckey 6 лет назад
Love love love Bo Burnham, and I saw eighth grade this week. truly fantastic. this interview, on the other hand, was such a disappointment, but that's because of Kimmel. Obviously he's old-school hollywood, and they look down upon youtube content creators. And I kind of understand, it's still a fairly new platform, it does have yet to prove its content as long-lasting entertainment (it's profitable, surely, but it hasn't been around enough to see long-term results). But what Kimmel seems to fail to realize (as evidenced by his comment about not wanting to watch a youtube video his own child recommended) is that this is where he himself is thriving. Cable is dying, it's been dying for years. Your views, your money, your continued success isn't because people are watching you on TV at night. It's because of these youtube clips. Also I just don't think Kimmel listens, he just is thinking of what to say next, and as a result, he struggles to come up with something to say in the event that the conversation has not followed the bullet points laid out on the teleprompter. Like, this is your job bro. To have a quality conversation, which you get paid HANDSOMELY for. Haven't you done this for YEARS? I think we need some young blood in this TV host game. Except you, Stephen Colbert. You can stay as long as you'd like.

I agree with your later statement. Kimmel is all over the place and his way of interviewing Bo is not only condescending, but it just misses actual interest. Like, isn't this your show? If you don't like the person, either don't interview them or suck it up and try to have a proper conversation for the people who do like the people on the other end of the desk.

ATizzle08 bro the only reason I watch things on the actual TV rather than stream on my phone is when I watch sport and I want the screen to be big or when I’m watching something in a group. So I can see why some people don’t own one. Especially in today’s economy if they are young and possibly in college.

I watched the film with my mother who is 30 years older than myself we related to Eighth grade as a near perfect display of what it felt to be that age. Regardless of the modern tech and RU-vid perspective. Almost every scene was relatable experience to invoke an almost PTSD moment to a former memory of my own middle school experience. And my mother expressed likewise. Bo is amazing. Can’t wait for more roles, movies, and maybe even stand up specials.

Casper Mason Candlewood yeah, if we're talking opinion. If you're talking fact-based, money-based, off-youtube-to-mainstream success, Bieber is the first and biggest person to do the offline transition. Bo is definitely up there, his success with standup and major directorial debut this summer catapults him high, but he's the type of guy that isn't looking for that Bieber success anyways. Look how much it screwed Biebs up.

Bo knew how to work with RU-vid back when it was a genuine creator platform. He found who he needed to promote his music and comedy through it and ultimately have his professionally produced and sold. Bo then realized how RU-vid was straying away from being that form of a platform and focused on other forms of promotion including tour, producing more albums and small acting roles. His channel still exists with his original music and for him to post the occasional new song or a filmed performance but he knows that RU-vid can no longer be used as an independent creator's promotion tool that it once was.

i once had a cat who, everytime he caught a mouse, would come to the front door and yell until someone came out and recognized his grand feat^^ usually it was me, i would then praise him and he was SUPER happy, meowing and purring like a little kitten and proudly pointing at the dead mouse while prancing around it xD he'd then eat it, while still purring very loudly^^
