I think Nix is the smartest qb in this draft class and will learn the fastest and hit the ground running. A lot to learn from and a lot of good things to see. Could have had 2/3 touchdowns - already putting things together quickly.
@@haroldhall1517 If JD stays healthy he definitely will be it's just if he stays healthy and for how long with his playstyle. I've read about a lot of people thinking Nix would have the longest career most of this offseason just cause he's well-rounded and protects himself very well. Caleb still the favorite for OROTY but I think it's going to be one of the three of them.
The thing that's interesting about this tape is that you can see that they are actually designing a Bo Nix offense, and also that he is pretty freaking advanced for a rookie when it comes to making reads, especially pre-snap reads. If he keeps working and learning this kid is going to be really good.
I was sold on Bo after watching The Herd. I can think of every other QB that Denver had sit on that couch and Nix would've stood out in spades. Mental quickness, mental toughness/maturity, and meter/poise. This kid's got it.
Maybe college QBs should spend the extra year or two in college to continue developing haha, it was constantly used against Bo and his time at both Auburn and Oregon but I think that extra year or two of development really benefited him.
Thanks for your breakdown of Bo…Nicely done… Broncos have a very solid QB who will continue to learn and get better. I watched all of Bo’s games at Oregon. He’s smart and accurate…Can make all the throws. Plus, he’s a great leader. I look forward to seeing his progress as a rookie.
This is great to watch. I've been watching football for years, and unlike baseball have never had a clue what's going on. I hope to watch more of these. Thanks Chase!
Hey Chase around the 5:00 minute mark, you talked about the coaches anticipated zone on 3rd down. Is there usually a threshold as in, like 3rd and 5 and below is man and above is zone?
6:08 That shot right there. This dude will make it in the league barring injury. That’s an NFL throw. The NFL reads and speed will be learned. If he dedicates to craft, he can make it. Peyton’s offense is not easy to master, but the kid is already looking fine.
I was a mizzou student from 2006-2007, I still remember the week when mizzou was #1, it was a cold fall day. I lived in an apartment right across the street on college ave and would walk to campus each day. My rent was $325/month for a studio lol. I use to check the rankings each week to see how far mizzou was going up.
It was the craziest fall in college football history. My ducks were up there until Denis Dixon went down, and then saw the chaos. I clearly remember what mizzou and West Virginia did after they reached to the top.
Bo looking like a starter, though I'd love for him to spend a season backing up a solid veteran, like Mahomes did with Smith. A guy like Joe Flacco for example, I think he could teach Bo Nix an awful lot. Anyhow, I wonder which of the other current QBs will be the odd man out in Denver? I actually think Zach Wilson looked better than Stidham in the first game, should be interesting.
Nix played well for his first game. He will get a lot better at the nuances with more game experience. For example, on the scramble he clearly had a crosser wide open to the right. Gotta throw that ball in most cases. On the TD pass he knew he was going to throw it. At that point there is no reason to fake the hand off, just get the ball and wing it to Mims - no need to waste a half a second faking a hand off that is totally not needed. Those tiny little things come with experience. I think he is going to be a very good player in a year or two.
Lol! Dude... Oregon fan here... We have been watching this guy for the last couple years... He did not look like a college quarterback... He looked like a very high IQ NFL quarterback, Especially in his final season. poised to become a Joe Montana type.... Probably ready to go now. He does have some growth to become a great quarterback in the NFL... But he can do it.
Been waiting for you to put this out there! Thanks. Have you seen the qb school’s analysis on him? Really ripped Bo for his happy feet. What are your thoughts on Bo’s footwork?
I am a Beaver, so I was always interested how U of O was doing. I watched every game he played and when people were talking really negative about him in NFL. I just thought to myself, we'll see but I thought he was a way better QB than Udub's Penix. Penix just had unbelievable weapons to throw to. Penix throws a pretty ball, but Nix is a gamer. Quick release...just what Sean wants...perfect match.
What exactly did he do that nobody expected? He went out and performed how he always has, and how everyone who actually watched his games and film thought he would be. Footwork still needs some work, but he is already way better on thay then he was in college.
Everyone is being overly critical of that first play I think. If Nix had thrown it one foot to the left, that's a 20 yard throw. I realize that he was off on that throw, but still, it was close.
I actually think it's interesting that they called such and advanced, timing-based pass for his first play. Says a lot about what they think of his capabilities. Yeah he missed it, but, like you said, not by much. In general most of his mistakes were like that. As he learns and improves in the offense he's going to become really good in my opinion.
If Nix throws to the guy in the middle, the rusher that beat the left tackle reach3s out and strips the ball, running was the correct move. If it was Bolles, THEN you make that throw
Nix will be elite he has manning like accuracy and processor brain and Bree’s accuracy and burning passion to he greatness and became that greatness under coach player. Nix athleticism makes him more dangerous aswell because running 4.5 as a pocket passer is out fkn CRAZY he’s gonna break defenses backs running for first downs on 3rd n 15 😂😂😂😂 I been hating qbs who can throw it and take off on them 3rd n longs where everyone is covered so they use that speed to burn us for a first down smh
On that first look, his footwork was the problem on the first read. He's on his back foot a lot. He'll fix that but it made his reaction slower. Not bad for first game. I'm excited.
Where are the 2 raiders qb’s? 😢 come on let’s go!! Give me some AOC and Minshew week 1 reviews or wait and do a double header and give us your opinion on who should be our QB!!
Compared to Maye? I don’t think so. Looks way better than the #3 overall pick. McCarthy down. Penix irrelevant without Cousins injury. Nix stock rising quickly.
@@creativeconnection4U You misread what I wrote, I meant he's a steal compared to Maye - who looks terrible. Hell no lol. When the #12 looks head and shoulders above the #3 overall I think that counts as some kind of steal on its own.
Quit with the click bait titles dude. Bo Nix did EXACTLY what Broncos fans thought he was going to do The title may as well say Chase Daniel eats a chocolate cake in women's underwear
