Those dogs don’t require training to do that.. it’s 💯 instinct. It was bred into these dogs somewhere around 5,000 years ago, farmers 5,000 years ago figured out the best defence to protect livestock from predators was with a wolf (in sheep’s clothing).
Am I the only one who has watched this clip a thousand times? 😍😍😍 Seeing these dogs working is absolutely magnificent. LGD’s are amazing, but this pack of Anatolian shepherds is incredible. Kudos to the owners 🙌🫶🏼
My neighbors lost a steer in the nite a week ago it's hind quarters were gone just a flap of skin. I never saw coyote attacks like this. I think it might of been the dog who takes deer down.
A friend’s grandfather had several livestock guardian dogs. They rarely interacted or even hung out near each other while working, but if the alert was sounded, they all came together. Together they once took down or chased away a wolf pack of over two dozen. The owners took pictures of the carnage and the cleanup upon returning home. Impressive creatures.
The story from the grandfather was that they lost a single lamb and the LGDs didn’t have a single scratch amongst them. The pictures showed a bunch of bloody, bruised and scratched up dogs with, I kid you not, smiles.
@@festuswilliams654 I needed to ask my friend as I didn’t remember and he confirmed they all wore them. A side comment he mentioned if interested was that they were all of different LGD breeds.
@@herbettacollins7674 When calling my friend regarding a question I had, he did tell me that the grandfather’s story differed from the grandmother in that the GF said not a scratch but the GM said there were scratches and bites on all of them but nothing life threatening and all treated or checked on by the local vet during a house call.
Love watching these incredible dogs all converging on the one who's alerting! What a force they are to be reckoned with! I assume that the guardian dogs are raised from a very young age with the young of the livestock they're going to be protecting? The protective instinct that is inherent in their breeding must make them priceless for ranchers. Dogs who are treated right are so incredibly loyal to their handlers. It must be a joy to work with this breed day after day!
The herd, not even one, flinched or started crowding together or show any fear....wow these well trained dogs are soo excellent at what they do, that the herd just stood there as if to say "they're back at it again. Just another Tuesday afternoon" 😍😍
I had two German shepherds. My kids grew up with them and instead of getting an alarm at the house in Miami on our property we got the dogs. All they did every day of their lives was work. It was what they wanted to do ,what they were bred to do and had the instinct for. They lived to protect their territory and their family. It’s been 20 years and I think of them often. Their names were, S and Angel. S was the dominant female and taught Angel everything she knew. Angel was the most loving dog I’ve ever known and taught me more about love than any human being has.
I have 4 German Shepherds (3 males and 1 female) and they are the BEST family and protection dogs! My kids always felt safe (they are in college and on their own now) and I do too! I had a door mat made with their pictures that says “No need to knock! We know you are here!” 😂 I dare anyone to come in to my home uninvited! Even if they are armed, there is no way they could get all 4, before one of them got him!
@@jamesjames9932 my “baby” shepherd is a “butt guy” and thinks nipping someone in the butt is a friendly greeting, but I scares the hell outta people! We are working on training that out of him, in the right situations!
Dogs with a purpose and a job.. and they take it VERY seriously… God i love this family 💜 and the humans who love and respect them … i cannot get enough of you all 🥰💜
All dogs have that in them, it's the 99% of fatass dog owners who really just should have bought a plush, because that's what the dog is expected to be
@@hothsurvivor Saw a video of a couple that lived in the city with their English Sheepdog. For his 1st birthday, they took him to a ranch with sheep, where he was allowed to interact with them. For the first few minutes i think he was more confused than curious. After making some vague attempts to get them to play, he realized he could make them move together. Within 10 minutes he was directing them around the paddock & purposely herding wanderers & stragglers back to the rest. No training whatsoever. It's sad to think how many people have 'working dogs' that are unemployed. Mostly because they don't realize some dogs need a purpose. I'm pleased to say, the couple in the video saw how happy their dog was & said while they couldn't get him his own sheep, they'd definitely bring him back to get training & find a regular activity he could do in town to keep him busy. That's why i have cats now that i'm old (& lazy). 5-10 minutes with the laser light & we're good. 😆
This is so exciting. I LOVE IT. Your dogs are beyond incredible. What a beautiful team response. SO COOL !!!!! A Colorado Mountain Grandma USA 💜✌️💕🐕💞🐶🌟👏👏👏
I was 6 when my freinds sheep dog tackled me into a pit it had dug out- it wasn’t ill intent, he was just really excited to see me…but uh yeah. That dog was taller than the 6’4” dad, and the dad taught the sheep dog to slow dance with him on his hind legs. But to 6 year old me- that thing was fricken bigger than an average bear to me as an adult
and one Lil ol border collie and they can be impressive dogs too but the LGDs are the true muscle n the BCs the herders, they all gave their hobs and do it well, nice that they respond together.
The initial shot is of Lily, while Bo is barking and can be seen in the background charging towards the threat. So it is she who doesn't hesitate to come to her brother's aid.
Love these dogs but can I just say the way the livestock always gather around to see what’s going to go down is always cute to see too. They watch like nosy, neighbors, but with confidence in their guards 👍👏🤗
This is an amazing video. Your dogs are phenomenal. All the animals just kept eating, they knew the dogs had everything under control. Please keep us supplied with video’s of your amazing dogs. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
😂😂I love how the goats are looking around like something is about to go down..Waldo the wolf 🐺 and posse must be trying to get at us and someone hit the dog alert button and our hero are going to protect us from all evil😂😂😂
I just love your wonderful dogs and posts u surely are perceptive of how they really are and their true value what a great experience for me thank you so much
I like that some of the sheep look like they start to at least worry, see the dog run past and looks like they basically go "oh they got this. We good" 🤣❤
Pete is def either the flash or SpiderMan. 😆 His 'tude def screams Spider Teen to me. "Uh uh uh hey hey hey, Mr. Stark. What are we getting into today?" "It's dangerous kid! Stay back this time." *Spider eyes twinkle with mischief*
