I've been researching wetshaving for a while now so as to enter this hobby, and your videos, especially those on Yaqi brushes, have been really helpful. I liked your introduction to and demonstration of the PR index for brushes, too. Then I wanted to watch a more recent video from you and the last one that I saw on your feed was this one which is from 2 years ago. And, I've gotta be honest, I immediately felt uncomfortable thinking something bad may have happened that you stopped making these videos. So, I'm now relieved to see you still replying to comments below this video. Really glad that you're well. Let me tell you that I'm about to get that Yaqi purple haze brush as my first brush mostly because you liked it so much. I also read 2-3 of your replies here as to why you've stopped making videos, and as much as it makes me sad that I can't have access to that knowledgeable-uncle/mentor-figure essence that you brought to the wetshaving community here on YT, but I also totally and deeply relate to having been burnt out, and feeling like you've got nothing more to say. I know you have a lot more to say on other subject matters, maybe only not on this one anymore. I'm not a fan of gardening in them cups, though! Haha! Kidding aside, If anytime you made another channel on another subject matter, I may come and say "hello" to you there. At the end of the day, I'm glad to know you're well and that I learnt something from you. Be well, wetshaving sensei!
I’m just starting with wet shaving. I’m very pleased I found your channel. I have the Palmolive ordered and I’m going to try the kiss my face and arco mix. Thanks for taking the time to make the videos. I’m working my way thru all of them.
Great Comparison! I find that the Semogue brushes are a little bit easier to break in compared to Omega boar brushes. The Stirling boar I have seems to have the same outsourced boar knot as the Semogues in my opinion as they break in the same & splay the same. I love using all my boars for different soaps & creams as you mentioned. Have a great weekend! Brian
I did subscribe to your channel trough kevy shaves💈👍🏼 I have question for you what’s the specific Yaqi razor that very mild and not agresive plate 0.48mm which give me good shave... Great video 💈👍🏼👍🏼 Alan
Alan I love the Yaqi head that is called the "Cobbed Head" You can not buy it as a complete razor but Yaqi sells Handles separately that are quite nice in many colors. This head I find quite smooth but still gives a great shave. I rate the aggressiveness at a level 5 or Medium aggressive. I don't know what the gap is but for me it shaves very well. I use Rapira Platium Lux Blades and this combo is one of only three razor I use now. You can find the head and handles on Aliexpress.com Kit
DE Shave Talk with Kit Hi Kit Thanks very much for reply your very kind I appreciate it a lot🙏🏻 Ok sure I’ll look for it and give it a try hope it’s good 🤞🏻.. Also any Yaqi handle will fit with cobbed ahead if I’m correct.. Take care stay safe and I’ll keep in touch with you hopefully I’ll get smooth shave without irritation🙏🏻 Alan
DE Shave Talk with Kit Hi Kit I did order the Yaqi cobbed head and handle with red grip.. Wonder what blade I should use with this razor for my sensitive skin I have Gillette 7 o clock super stainless and nacet..?? I did order Astra and as well Gillette 7 o clock Permasharp..from India.. What do you suggest.. Alan
That depends ? Is the smell completely gone? and is your brush splaying nicely and not too stiff. If you answer yes to all that then no you don't need more break in. Kit
Hi Kit, happy Thanksgiving! I think i asked you something similar a while back, but I can't find the comment any longer. If you could buy only 1 of each today (Razor, Brush, Soap, Aftershave) and use only these and Nothing Else, which would you choose? Looking forward to your response!
My number one razor Giant.Avocado is a Yaqi prototype adjustable that is not for sale yet ... OMG what a smooth efficient DE razor~! My number one Blade is Voskhod, My Number one Soap is Oleo Soap Works" Irving Park" Barbasol is my daily after shave Followed by Razorock Irish Countryside splash. My favorite 2 brushes are both Omega Boars. So that is pretty much what I would buy if I only could buy one of each. Kit
Hi Mert, Nice to see your message ...I am not doing my channel these days. Got hard with the Leukemia and all but I keep my chin up and doing fine and I hope you and those you care about are fine as well~! Kit
Andreas, I gave my videos two years and many many hours of my time and I gave it all i had until i just got burned out. I do thank you for appreciating my efforts but to be honest I lost the motivation going forward ~! You gotta love the boar brushes though ~! Grinn Kit
@@deshavetalkwithkit8935 Here is another one that appreciates your effort and passion. Just discovered your channel. Hope that you are Ok and, just if you feel in the mood for, please reconsider making new videos.
Hello Kit. I didn't heared or read long time from you. So i wanted to ask if you are ok? I know that your health could be better, so.... Hope you are doing fine! All the best from Germany, Jens
Hey Jens Thanks for your concern ~! I am actually still surviving after 20 years of stage 4 leukemia ~! Believe me I have had a lot of Miracles in my life to still be around. Moved my bride to Oregon to be around her family and been making all the adjustments around that issue. As far as my shave channel goes it just got to be too much work and I started "shaving for my own personal pleasure " God Bless, Kit

Yep doing just fine Rip~! I am just shaving for my personal enjoyment now because I ran out of things to contribute and I have narrowed down my equipment to 2 razors and two brushes and a few favorite soaps..... Take care, Kit

@@brianthefloridian6254 Doing fine Brian ...moved to Eugene Oregon and stopped making video's as I just got burned out after RU-vid deleted a lot of my video's .... Hope all is well and happy shaving ~! Kit
@@deshavetalkwithkit8935 you too Kit! Glad to hear you are doing ok. Which 2 brushes & razors are your favorites now? You had a great collection of shave hardware in that Den! Take Care!
Ez thanks for the vote of confidence but concerning more video's about shaving I pretty much gave it my all for 2 years. After that I found that I ran out of what I thought was interesting and helpful subjects to present. If I were to start videos again which I don't plan right now it would be on vegetable gardening in containers. Kit
